Aquilani To Leave On Loan

Gerrard hasn't played in a holding role for about ten years.

And I don't know why you're needless spazzing out, Modo.

I said I wouldn't mind him back.

If Stevie played the holding role we could put out a tasty looking CM 3 (Probably only for a game or so though, before Aquilani got a cold or something).

Ming---Aquilani

----Stevie------
Not a hope thats ever gonna happen. Stevies not a holding player.

Ming---Stevie

----Lucas or his replacement------

Thatd be more like it tbh

There's no way we can incorporate Gerrard, Meireles and Aquilani in the same first team.

I would like Alberto back though, but if the money raised was going towards a decent DM or LB then I'd have no complaints.
Why is everyone so intent on all of them playing together.
WE DON'T HAVE A FUCKING SQUAD AS IT WAS CLEARLY EVIDENT AGAINST WIGAN!!!!

We need to have quality players on and off the pitch. When are people gonna understand??
I'd love to have Aquilani back. He'd be the perfect player for our current system.
We're playing the system to suit the players we have as Kenny has stated. If he's going to change it when Carroll is fit then theres no place for Aquilani, especiallly after the summer as one would hope that 2 wide players will be brought in!

My question with regards to the Aquilani dilemma has always been "Is he good enough and consistent enough to build a team around in the Premeirship?". I think the answer to that question is probably "No". And I'm not sure we'd see enough value from him as a squaddie rotated in and out of the team to keep him.

If we have bags of money and we can afford to buy without selling with the intent of building a big and very deep squad then sure, keep him if it works out, but that's probably not going to be the case.
That could work very well against eighty percent of the teams we play but it does lack a midfield destroyer for those tougher games

We struggled in midfield against Wigan the other day. I'm not sure that 80% stat is quite right.

That looks like a very decent team indeed. I don't buy at all that Aquilani, Stevie and Ming couldn't play in the same team.

Aquilani: 'My future in the balance'

The former Roma midfielder arrived in the summer on a one-season loan deal with an option to buy outright, but there are no guarantees it will be taken up.

“I came here running quite a big risk, as I came on a simple loan deal,†he told Sky Sport Italia.

“That’s unlike many of my teammates, who have some kind of reassurance or even obligation for a permanent move.

“There is nothing for me, just a loan with an option to buy. Liverpool set a high buy-out clause on my loan, especially in the current financial climate.

“I know it’s not easy. I knew coming here to Juventus that it would not be easy, but in all honesty I am calm, am not thinking about it and have never thought about it.

“Now I will finish off the year and try to give everything, as in any case Juventus have given me the chance to come back to Italy and have an important role in this squad.â

Someone tell the fucking inbred that the 'high buy-out clause, especially in the current financial climate' is about 4 or 5 million less than what he cost us when he was broken and sat on his arse for a year.

He knows that Juve are trying to stiff us on the price and that this risks derailing the deal, so he's trying to make sure it goes through by emphasising the fact that he really doesn't want to come back.

I hope he succeeds.

His wages is a €1M more than what Juve are willing to pay. Nothing stopping Aquilani from taking a pay cut. Let's see how determined he is to make his move permanent!

Keniget: It's not possible to build a side around Aquilani because he's not good enough. While a good player, he'll at best be a squad player if he returns to Liverpool.

in even worse financial climate, at a micro and macro level....the cunt...we are not running a charity.

Liverpool will have to take a £12million hit on Alberto Aquilani if they want to do a deal for the Italian midfielder with Juventus.

The Turin club took Aquilani on loan for the season after his failure to settle at Anfield following a £17million switch from Roma.

And Roy Hodgson allowed him to move back to Serie A for the year in the hope that it would secure a permanent return.

But while Juventus are interested in signing the 26-year-old at the end of the season, they have told Liverpool that they will have to renegotiate the £10million buy-out clause that was inserted into the loan deal.

Juventus claim that their financial position means they can only afford to pay a maximum of £5million – and they only want to pay that in instalments.

Reds’ boss Kenny Dalglish may even bring Aquilani back to the Premier League rather than accept such a heavy loss on a player who arrived in England with a big reputation.

The last line is legitimate but I'm struggling to think of that many players who we can actually put under the category of your opening question ...

£5 million ? Piss taking bastards. They can fuck right off.

Easy...if you can only afford to pay 5 million, then get a player who is only worth 5 million.

Fuck off you shameless Italian bastards...

Don't care tbh, if they don't want to pay up there will be other potential suitors. I'm guessing both Milano clubs will be interested, as they would need a new midfielder. Let's hope he continues his good season and cranks up the price.

They can have Poulsen back for that...

Bring Igor back.

If poor ickle boy goes for 5 million after costing the club 17 million pound to sit on Rafa's and Roy's bench I'll picket Anfield.

hahahahahahahah, that's a pretty good joke.

Ha, you mean it, cobra? I thought its a sick one. All the noises from Juve and Aquilani seem to back this up. Hopefully our new Chief Executive will be someone 'stronger' than Parry. :-[

I mean it Binny, I think a deal for Aquilani in the range of 5m pounds happens exactly never with our new owners. They are having a laugh if they are realistically entertaining that possibility. They're living in a dream world if they think we're just going to give them 7 or 8 million pounds in this deal.

Right, I just fear that a combination of: player's desire to return, potential lack of interest to meet preferred asking price, previous poor stint in English football and desire to get his reported £85,000k/wk off the wage bill might make the entire Aquilani deal (his huge fee and subsequent massive loss from his sale) a sick joke.

Having not heard a word from liverpool in the press over this deal makes me think that when it comes to it it'll be either pay up of fuck off when juve come calling!!

Bring him home.
Reina

Thats a squad that is.

If Aquilani were going to stay fit and firing on all cylinders, maybe, but neither's going to happen. He'll get crocked again if he spends any length of time playing in the Prem, and he'll be spitting tacks that he couldn't stay in Italy. £5-8 mill.is a joke and I wouldn't want to see him sold for that, but I'd sooner have the agreed fee than the player, all day long.

I'd just take a gamble and tell them up front that the price is what the price is. Not listen to any negotiations and inform them that if they aren't prepared to meet the asking price, we'll have him back.

Same here, but I'd also put discreet feelers out to other Italian clubs making it clear that they can have him for the same price if Juve don't.
