It's official now. Aqua on loan to Juve, option for a permanent transfer 13,1 mill £.

According to Neil Jones from the Echo, we paid 17,1 mill £ for him.

Neil Jones is wrong.

Hahaha, I was expecting you to turn up. You're like that kid everybody had in class that always had his hand up knowing all the answers. Or at least they thougt they did.

Why would Roma insist that they paid more for him on their official website?

Hansern your love for bad journalism knows no bounds. Nobody knows how much the club paid in sterling. All that is definitely known is the info that Roma released.

When is Huang taking over ?

See Avvy's post above.

Given the fluctuation in exchange rates that there has been and will be (and whether or not LFC hedges currency exchanges), anyone claiming to know how much we paid in sterling is bullshitting. There isn't a huge variation between the figures but there isn't an exact one yet

So everything else than what you believe is bad journalism eh. I would have guessed as much.

So the fee was 18 mill £, missed by 900k. Or do you coun't the installements as the "fee" aswell. Obvs we will never pay more than 18 mill £, as he won't be around to fullfill any of the add ons.

The fee could possibly be etc etc

If that's true, then the fact we've loaned him out about 6 weeks later is just fucking ridiculous. We should have tried to sell him in June, maybe we did, I don't know, but can anyone seriously see him ever playing for us again?

We would have had to pay that fee anyway, Mark, regardless of whether he was sold or not.

You can only believe that nobody would match our valuation.

ahhh. I see what you mean. I still think this is about the wage bill, I'm guessing even Italian clubs want him to prove his fitness though, and after the year he's just had, who can blame them?

Benitez REALLY fucked up over the last two Summers, Dossena, Riera, Cavieleri, Keane and Aquilani. Even Johnson, great a player he is, I still think is a shocking defender when up against a good side. Lucky for him his attacking play is excellent. He needs to improve bigtime.

The link I put up bears that out; his first three transfer windows ranged from good to very good.

The last two were nothing short of horrific.

He ain't coming back!!

Alberto Aquilani has revealed he hopes to win a permanent deal at Juventus after joining the club on loan from Liverpool.

Aquilani has returned to Italy on a tempoary basis after a disappointing debut season with the Reds last term.

The former Roma midfielder joined Juve on a season-long loan earlier this week with the Italian giants holding the option to make the move permanent next summer.

Aquilani admits he enjoyed last season at Anfield, but hopes to do enough to secure a long-term stay in Turin.

"England was a great experience, but I am here to stay," said Aquilani.

"Leaving Roma was a hard choice, but it helped the club financially. I am a professional and Juventus is a fundamental move in my career and to help me step back towards the national team.

"There is a will to do well here. Scudetto? We can do well, but Inter have something more."

Well, fair play to him, at least he's not badmouthing the club. I know he'd have no reason to, but that doesn't always stop players who leave with their tails between their legs.

Alberto Aquilani has revealed he would have been happy to have stayed at Liverpool this season.

The Italian midfielder left Liverpool to join Juventus on a season-long loan last month after Reds boss Roy Hodgson sanctioned his departure.

Aquilani admits the move to Juventus came as a surprise as he was preparing himself for the new season at Anfield.

However, the former Roma man conceded a move to Juventus was too good to turn down after a disappointing first season at Liverpool last term.

"It was really fast, a blitz," Aquilani told Tuttosport. "One day I was speaking with [Roy] Hodgson and we were discussing Liverpool's season and three days later I found myself having a medical in Turin.

"Liverpool counted on me and in the end I would also have stayed because at the end of last season I was getting in gear physically and I had played the last eight games of the campaign.

"The fans had started to show me affection. Then this opportunity arrived and I didn't even need a minute to think about it. Liverpool wanted to only send me on loan, but [Juve general director, Beppe] Marotta insisted to have the option to buy."

Aquilani is enjoying his early days in Turin and is relishing the prospect of playing for the Bianconeri.

"Turin has made a beautiful impact on me," added Aquilani. "I also like the climate because with respect to Liverpool...

"It's a beautiful city. I didn't expect it to be like this. It has been a positive surprise.

"Juventus on the other hand aren't a surprise. I knew the city, but Juventus is Juventus just like you see on the outside. It's one of the most important clubs in the world."

I read it the same way as FFF does, I don't think he's calling Liverpool the beautiful city, he's talking about Turin as a city and then Juve as a club. .

I love Liverpool and I've never been to Turin, but I'd hazard a guess that Turin *is* more beautiful.

- Basically saying a national team recall had been on his mind ever since he managed to start getting games at Liverpool.
- Thank Juve boss Del Neri for his confidence in him and giving him a run of games
- Express his hope for a permanent stay at Juve come end of the season.

Good. Then we might buy someone who can play in the Premiership for the money we'll recieve. Great player, better suited to Serie A.

I'm not prepared to accept that he would never shine in the PL, I think he could have.

But his attitude and application is certainly questionable.

Still, we should have kept him unless we got an offer in, obv.

I'd really love to know the specifics of the loan deal though.

If he's playing well, we might be able to get more money from Juve if we indicate we might be prepared to recall him.

Fee is already agreed I thought

If we sell,yes.

I'm not sure if we have any rights to recall him.
[/quote]

Eh? If the fee is settled doesn't it mean that the buying team has an option to buy and we can't negotiate it any further? I don't see how it would make sense any other way.

Depends on how the option is worded.

An option usually sets the price, it doesnt determine the right of the selling party to refuse the sale.

We can't sell to anyone else for a figure over the price agreed anyway.

Are you sure about it? I've always thought it works a bit like a realese clause only in this case a team spesific release clause.

even if aqua were recalled the same problem would remain, where would he play.

6 attacking slots
1. torres
2. gerrard
3. cole
4. meireles
5. kuyt
6. ???

so where is he going to play? CM? RM? LM? CF?
