Did Aquilani pass the medical?
Apparently a six hour one.

Of course he says it feels like coming home. He's in italy. Having a raft of medical examinations. That is home.

He has been a bad joke from Day One: injured; poor in training; flu; a cold; feeling poorly; injured again; one good game; several poor games; a virus; shit in pre-season; doesn't like being tackled; utterly unsuited to the Premiership; a giant fucking spineless shithouse and the worst signing in our entire history

Ha fucking ha

Does anyone know exactly how much we ACTUALLY paid for him?
Surely with not only his past injury record but the one he had when he signed for LFC, there must have been tons of appearance and performance based clauses in the transfer fee.
Could 16m euros possibly mean we at least break even?
No.

The absolute minimum he'll cost is €20m. As Squiggles said there are various add ons related to appearances (every 35th appearance triggering a payment of around 300k), and trophy wins.

Selling might 'make sense'.

Nothing justifies sending a £20M player out on loan when you've got no money and a piss-weak squad.
I don't think it's that simple. Juve have agreed to pay the whole of his wages, which at minimum is a sizeable drop in expenditure for at least this season and/or frees that money for use elsewhere. It may well also be the best way ultimately to sell the guy for a reasonable fee, a fee we wouldn't have got anywhere near if we flogged him off in a hurry now, given (a) his "career" in the Prem and (b) the fact that everybody knows how badly we need the cash.
Yep, that's pretty clever. Everyone knows how badly we need the cash, so we've negotiated a deal that gives us NONE AT ALL! Cunning...

There must be something in it that he's not been trusted by two managers now. It's not like he's a shit player without talent, so it must be a case of attitude or failure to settle off / on the pitch. What a disaster.

Rafa did a lot of good for the club, which often gets forgotten these days, but it's quite unbelievable how badly wrong he got it in the last couple years here. So far it's cost him his job and us a place in the CL. I really really hope it ends there.

But didnt Ian Rush say that being in Italy was like being in a foreign country?

Wasn't there a rumour that he was a bit of a party boy as well?

I can't imagine that would have went down too well with Rafa.

Alberto Aquilani has apparently passed a truly marathon medical at Juventus, which lasted six hours.

Juventus wanted to avoid a situation similar to that of Jorge Andrade, the Portuguese centre-back, whose contract had to be rescinded on account of his physical problems.

Tuttosport cites one of Juventus' medical staff as saying: “The cartilage of the ankle and the knee is perfect and he has also recovered from a muscle tear to the thigh.â€

The 25-year-old midfielder is now expected to sign a contract, which confirms his move on loan from Liverpool.

Juventus will have the option to sign him on a permanent basis next summer for a fee thought to be around €16m.

Aquilani joins Milos Krasic, Jorge Martinez, Leonardo Bonucci, Marco Motta and Marco Storari as Juventus' new arrivals in pre-season.
Assuming the piece of wank plays swell, do we still have final option asto whether to sell?

Who knows, maybe we can get more for him.

Or maybe pigs can fly.

So he was exhausted and rejected after the marathon?

I have a friend whose Uncle's a passionate Forest fan.

It galls him to see where they are now of course.

His eyes always glaze over when he talks about THAT team which won 2 Big 'Ears in a row.

I often wonder if I'll have that look one day.

Yeah, I often felt bad when he talked like that..because I knew they were a great team..even though they were a major rival to us.

HIs nephew (the Manc) always found it funny because like typical Mancs he didnt know anything about those teams, and often mocked him behind his back about it.

So lucky for us Lucas prefers to never party but put in his miles at the training instead, hence he is palying every fucking game.... Oh la la... Shake your ass Lcas...

It's not quite the same thing. Forest were always a small club who did great things, and their glory period was fairly brief. I grew up in Notts and went to see them quite often at the time. Great team, great manager, but not a great club. Liverpool are just too big to sink slowly into insignificance like that.

We could do a Leeds though. If anything brings us down, it will be debt.

It's official now. Aqua on loan to Juve, option for a permanent transfer 13,1 mill £.

According to Neil Jones from the Echo, we paid 17,1 mill £ for him.

If Juventus end up buying him at that rate, and we don't have to pay his wages this year, I can understand (within the framework of us getting raped) the deal.

The issue is, we need more creative players not less.
