In my humble opinion many fans totally misjudged Sakho because he looks so inelegant, but he is incredibly effective in defence and also has the ability to ping great balls forward to set up attacks.

The comment was that we couldnt afford World class players in every position, which is true. Listing some random names from 2012 and onwards wont change that fact. Everyone knows its possible to improve the team with some smart business. We did it this summer ourselves.

Sort the defence out as a priority. We are so poor defensively that any long ball into our box casues panic.

We need a new striker but a commanding GK, CH & CM must be priority.

Fee wise yes, but not quality wise in every position. Luiz, Otamendi/Stones etc. Loads of money for average players.

Playing three at the back, I do think that Sakho, Lovren and Matip is likely to be superior to a trio including Klavan. In fact, that's a pretty imposing back three. Even with a CB pairing, when we consider how much one of either Lovren or Matip has been injured causing us to play Klavan or Lucas, the Sakho situation has clearly cost us. Indeed, there's a few points gone in that decision. Obviously, it looks like there is no way back, but we should have used him whilst he was our player.

He's playing backs to the wall football for a lower table Allardyce side who set up camp on the edge of their box and surround the box.

He had plenty of games to show for us he a) wasn't good enough on the ball, and b) had mistakes aplenty in him. It's debatable as to whether he's any better or worse than our current options, but it's not debatable - in my view - that he's not good enough for us.

Very very true but their has been certain games where we could've done with a clinical striker.
