CARROLL BACK IN FULL TRAINING

Andy Carroll is looking increasingly likely to make his Liverpool debut against Manchester United on Sunday.

The striker took part in full training with his new side for the first time on Tuesday, and several morning newspapers claim he came through with no problems.

Carroll hasn't played since December, after being sidelined with a thigh injury. The injury was initially only supposed to keep him out for a couple of weeks, but has actually prevented Liverpool's record signing from appearing for over two months.

The forward is unlikely to start against United, but could be given a place on the bench.

Carroll's return to fitness would be a rare piece of good injury news for Kenny Dalglish, who has problems in defence.

Martin Kelly has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring problem, and both Fabio Aurelio and Daniel Agger are unlikely to train before Thursday.

Raul Meireiles however, looks likely to be fit for the clash, despite suffering a knee injury in their defeat to West Ham at the weekend.

Assistant Steve Clarke said: "We're hopeful. Meireles had a little problem with his knee and as a precaution at the start of the second half we thought it was better to take him off. That gives him a better chance of being ready for the next game.

"He'll get three or four days on the easier list and then hopefully towards the end of the week we'll be able to put him back in the preparations for the weekend."

And on Agger and Aurelio, Clarke said: "They are both on the easy list at the moment.

"We're almost sure Fábio Aurélio will join us on Thursday and we're hopeful Daniel will join us on Thursday or Friday at the latest."

Not too bad then, we definitely need Ming and Agger back for Sunday and Aurelio being available will be a boost with Johnson likely reverting to right back. We've got options but I don't fancy us having to play Soto against them.

If Vidic had been playing I'd have said we needed Soto to mark him in our box at set-pieces. Now I'd prefer Skrtel IF we can get him back to the form he was starting to show a couple of games or so ago. Otherwise Soto has to play if we go three at the back.

FROM THE GUARDIAN....

The visitors ended up reduced to 10 themselves when Nemanja Vidic was sent off in stoppage time, leaving them without both the Serb and the injured England captain, Rio Ferdinand, for Sunday's trip to Liverpool.

FUCKING YIRS.

I thought Skertl was suspended ?

Oops. Soto it is then. Unless we put Wilson in there?

BTW let's not tempt Providence about their CBs, eh, fellas? It would be just our luck for whoever steps in (presumably Wes Ginger-nut Brown) to have the game of his miserable life.

So who'll start at the back for utd?

Smalling and ?

Could be a great opportunity for Suarez and carroll

Fucking have that you manc cuntz.

Has skrtel been booked 5 times since the card amnesty? That was at christmas time wasn't it?

All I know is, the nice men on 5Live said, Skertl misses the next game.

They said this during the Nightmare At Upton Park.

Good news about Aurelio, Agger, Ming etc, and especially about Carroll, but I'd be worried about a whole bunch of players coming back from injury straight into a team to face United.

It would be fantastic to beat those cunts and help damage their chances of winning the league, but I have to say I'm not madly optimistic about this game. I just don't think our squad is good enough to cope with all these injuries.

Anyone want to convince me?

The Mancs aren't firing on all cylinders. They're where they are in the league as much due to referees' selective blindness as due to their own efforts. Our best XI can take them all right.

That process has been helped more than just a bit by the amazing way referees had been rolling out the red carpet for them, until Atkinson was too incompetent to follow orders yesterday.

They're where they are because everyone else has fucked up at various points this season.

I know they're worthy of all the despise in the world but, seriously, do we not ever get tired of trying to explain away their success as being the result of conspiracy or cosmic forces or some other power utterly unrelated to their football? The first 65 minutes last night for those who missed it; one of the most expensively assembled teams in history, playing for their lives, playing to their potential in front of their own fans....... and getting utterly dominated by this team we're saying is not playing well or is leading the league cause of everyone elses failings. Seriously?

If they turn up and play like that against us I don't care who's fit - Carroll, Stevie, Suarez, Agger - it's make no difference. We'll get beat and beat convincingly. It constantly astonishes me that they can produce a performance like that with the midfield they've got. It looks like the midfield of a mid table or even bottom end table side yet they played Chelsea off the park for more than an hour. Every time it happens I resolve to give their midfield more respect but then I look at them indiviually again and think "nope, they're seriously not that good" - yet they're on top of the league and probably going through to the last 8 of the best teams in Europe.

No matter how much we want to believe it the whole continent has not rolled over in some massive conspiracy to have them sitting where they are.
