The leap for his first touch looks promising

Very... Corners with Carroll AND Soto will be devastating.. They can head it between them like a pinball machine until one of them decided to put the opposition defence out of their misery and finish it..

carroll will also help us defending against corners as well.

when we get decent wide players they wont even have to be that accurate because anything they hang up back post carroll will win, like crouch was 'supposed' to.

Was thinking about this last night and during the minutes he played on sunday.

With pacey wingers next to him and Suarez we'll be deadly.

Will he get in the team? Kuyt/Suarez is unexpectedly and surprisingly effective. They already have several goals and assists between them, Id be inclined to stick with them and play Carroll off the bench.

Surely they can all play at the same time.

------------Gerrard---Lucas

-------------------Ming

---------Kuyt-----Carroll---Suarez

Maxi had one of his better games on Sunday, But i'd still rather he wasn't a starting regular. We also saw on Sunday that Suarez is dangerous no matter where his position on the field is.

Yeah, Carroll will start once he's match fit. Although Kuyt has been patchy as a WF this season I much rather see him start than Maxi. Eventually him and Lucas should be replaced in the starting eleven by a top DM and winger but he'll make an excellent squad player after that. Add a commanding CB and it's starting to look like a team capable of challenging again.

LIVERPOOL manager Kenny Dalglish has warned England to take care of £35m hitman Andy Carroll – or else.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has wrapped the 22-year-old in cotton wool since making him the most expensive British player in history on transfer deadline day.

And he admits he will be absolutely furious if all Carroll’s good work and patience is ruined by Fabio Capello.

The England boss ran the rule over the big striker’s full debut as he watched Liverpool’s exit from Europe to Braga on Thursday.

Capello would love to pair Carroll with Wayne Rooney for next week’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Wales, with the squad due to be announced tomorrow.

But Carroll has been given the kid-glove treatment by Liverpool following his big-money move from Newcastle.

He arrived at the club with a thigh injury and Dalglish stressed then that he would not rush such a massive investment.

It was 34 days after signing that the striker came on as a sub towards the end of the 3-1 win over Manchester United.

Dalglish said: “I don’t know if Fabio wants to pick him or not. But there is no point in us being as guided as we have been in his recuperation and doing such a good job to get him where he is now, if someone else is going to waste all that.

“England have to be responsible with him.
There is nothing we can do to stop them picking him, but common sense
has to prevail.

“It is not a case of going to war with anyone. We fully understand somebody wanting to pick his best players for England, but they also have to understand the fact that he is not really there yet, fitness-wise.â€

Dalglish admitted that he hadn’t really wanted to give Carroll the full 90 minutes against the Portuguese outfit.

He added: “We will do what is best for Andy’s interest else and no one else.

"We will do our best to to keep him going on his recovery.

“He stayed on longer than we hoped him to.

“If Fabio picks him, he picks – that’s up to him. He still hasa good bit of him fitness to come.â€

Capello:

"I went to Liverpool to monitor Andy Carroll. He has played just one game [since being fit]. We need to wait until after the weekend games. He is fit but he needs to play games because, every time, the big players need more games to find the good form.

"The squad will be 25 players for these two games. Two players more than normal."

Has apperantly told Pearce that he isn't fit enough to play in the U-21s this summer.

Will be interesting to see if he's picked regardless today...
