Sweet Carroll 9
Oh Oh Oh
Scoring never looked so good
So good So good So good
Goals all the time
Oh Oh Oh
Just like Kenny said he would

(Whilst swaying back & forth sing the Na na na's)
Na na na, na na na na na, na na na, na na na na na

Ohh Ohh Ohh (rising)
Sweet Carroll 9
Oh Oh Oh
Him and Suarez look so good
So good So good So good
Goals all the time
Oh Oh Oh
Just like Kenny said they would, would, would (and fade)

Clever Kop! (Carroll wears #9 shirt) RT @ajdavies: The Kop will be adopting the RedSox anthem for Andy Carroll- "Sweet Carroll 9 doodoodoo!"

It is indeed a touch of class showing we understand the new owners roots like that. I do worry it's a bit slow but can see it speeding up a bit sung by 35000 reds on match day.

The lady is not only attractive and brainy, she's already a true Red.

That is a BOSS song.

Forgive me for asking a numpty question; but how did these songs catch on in the past?

I believe they were very often pulled from 'popular culture' (not just pop music) & groups of lads would lash words on to it pre & post game, usually in the boozer, & during the trips to away games. As a LOT of the fans travelled, drank & went the game together, & it was very local the old jungle drums would spread it. Dont forget that queuing was a massive part of going the match too, that many people together with a few hours to spare can usually sort something out & try a couple of renditions!

I do remember in the late 80's/early 90's though they had progressed to leafleting the fans in the queue for the Kop & in the pubs around the ground to get it going.

I used to get the LFC or Barnes coaches to aways in the 80s and loads of songs would get sorted on the bus. If 50 people went into the middle of a terrace and started singing something before the game even started (sometimes you'd get herded in dead early), by the end a few thousand would know what it was and by next week the whole of Anfield would.

“I am desperate to see him because I want to see one hung up in the box, in front of the Kop, and him charging in on a header,†Dalglish said. “I’d love to be inside the mind of the defender who is standing underneath it, waiting for it to come in, waiting for Andy to plough over the top of him.â€

Shanklesque that from the King. I bet Carroll felt 15 feet tall when he heard that.

Is she following Brian Reade or anybody on Twitter?

She seems to know an awful lot about the club

[/quote]Beautiful. Proper 'Take a walk round my centre half' stuff that.

Not just that, but it puts that image in referrees minds, so when he does it, they will be much less inclined to give a free kick to them & let the goal stand.

BRITISH record signing Andy Carroll was reduced to TEARS by a couple of tough-nut defenders during his early days at Newcastle.

Carroll had to work hard for his first team debut in a UEFA Cup tie at Palermo in 2006 – and that included some rough and ready treatment on the training field.

Former Toon boss Glenn Roeder, who gave Carroll his big chance, said: “It certainly wasn’t all plain sailing for Andy.

“When he first appeared on the scene he was a tall skinny kid and his co-ordination was all over the place.

‘‘He reminded me of a giraffe! Two of the older lads, David Edgar and Paul Huntingdon, gave Andy a bit of a rough time at training and he used to well up – there were tears in his eyes.

“But Andy coped well and turned himself into the tough guy and the player he is today. His rise has been nothing short of meteroic.’’

And that is something Newcastle No.2 John Carver will be proud of. Now in his second spell at St James’ Park, Carver was the director of the Newcastle academy when he first met the tall, skinny kid from Gateshead.

A Newcastle source told People Sport: “When Andy first came here he was a left-back. But JC and fellow Academy man Jimmy Nelson saw him more as a centre-forward. That’s why Newcastle are £35mbetter off today.â€

I read today that Carroll could be out for upto 2 and a half months. Hopefully its not true and its probably not as the source is tribalfootball

It's bollocks. The Sunday Mirror are reporting it.

It was UP TO two & a half months from Dec when the doctors at Newcastle examined him. It's now February, not that the Sunday Mirror have noticed.

Still think we could have used the injury to bring down the price though.

The Crockuilani saga has left us all afraid.

I've been assured that Carroll will be out for about another 3 weeks.

Fuck me, if he's back for Utd & Ferdinand's still out, I may start to dream about taking points off them to stop them getting 19.

Asprilla having a go at Kenny: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/02/09/asprilla-dalglish-destroyed-united-s-title-bid-72703-28140527/2/#ixzz1DSwhXHID

Part of it:
And Asprilla has a few words of advice for Carroll at Liverpool.

He says: “I would say to Andy, make sure he scores goals or he will get dropped straight away.

“He will also need a translator to understand Dalglish’s Scottish accent!

“I couldn’t understand a word he said.

“One day he spent half an hour on a drawing board telling me how I should play.

“Then he asked me after 30 minutes and asked me if I understood.

“But I had to turn round and say ‘I don’t have a clue’.

“Kenny said he’d explain another time but we never had that onversation.â€
