Yeh jury is still out on Carroll but huge potential. Just like when we signed Torres to be fair. Remember how unsure we were then ?

Sums arent final; but we have to be talking about 60-70 odd million pounds.

We've been dreaming about those kinds of windows; and if you'd been told that that was the money we had you'd not be looking a those 3 players.

As soon as the fee hit 35m, Newcastle wanted to sell. They probably told him to submit a transfer request so they could tell their fans "we reluctantly agreed" and also not have to pay up his contract.

Get your point vantage, but it was more likely a case of Cole and Barton (ok, maybe Parker). More importantly, having signed Suarez who's new to the league, we do need Premier league proven (or at least showed signs of coping with it) players.
