Agree 100%. They've taken a difficult, possibly catastrophic window & turned it around.

The wage bill will have been considerably reduced.

He will be on Half the wages Torres is on..

Thats a saving of about 15 million squid over 5 years..

The 35 million Transfer does not sound to bad now does it ?

Brilliant, so that brings conservatively his fee down shall we say 10M? Gone after 3.5 years, let's say? So 25M? - Plus holding onto Torres would have cost a pretty penny. Great savings...

Still feel dumped though! 😉
 
He'll also add one fucking great thing that we have missed, and that is aerial presence. Defending and attacking corners and set pieces.

So a savings of 2.5 x 5 = 12.5M plus 15 from sales = 27M gain over 5 years.
 
Not forgetting the point RE resale value - not that I'd like that to happen but would Torres ever command more than anything around 50m yrs down the road? Unlikely me thinks.
