I will just feel physically sick and utterly devastated if the Scum win the league so if it means Chelsea beat us to prevent it happening then so be it.

Obviously if we had something to play for i.e 4th place then it would be a different story.
So, you're more bothered about what the Mancs achieve or don't achieve above us winning. That means you ain't no Liverpool fan.
LOL but us winning won't allow us to achieve anything whereas us not winning descreases Man U's chances of winning the league.
Which is what we want, no? 🙁 😱
I don't give a fuck about what Man U achieve, I support Liverpool. Do you?

I've been a Red all my days mate. Supporting Liverpool plays a huge part in my life.

In this case though i just see more harm than good done if we go and beat Chelsea.

It's as simple as that!!

far be it for anyone to tell someone else how to supoort their team, its up to the individua but personally I will always want liverpool to win. no matter what the circumstances (mancs winning 19, wanting rid of the manager) I wouldn't EVER want them to lose, doesn't matter whether its the CC, Cl final, an end of season game where we have nothing to play for.

if you can want liverpool to lose then you can turn your support on and off like a tap, so are you a true supporter?

I hope Rafa rests all our good players for the Europa league.. because that's a trophy we can actually win. There's nothing to play for in the league anymore.

If that means it's an easier game for West Ham/Burnley/Chelsea/whoever, then so be it. We can still try and win with the likes of N'Gog, Spearing and Pacheco. But what's the point in going out all guns blazing against Chelsea when in its in OUR INTERESTS anyway to save everyone for a possible final?

Nice contradiction Neil.

I bet these idiots have given out about managers who have fielded weakened temas away at Old Trafford, which in my eyes is effectively throwing a game.

not really, the last sentence is purely asking a question rather than telling someone how to support their team.

There's definitely a case to be made about how heavy that weighty 'record' has been to lug around for 20+ years.

We've been living in the shadows of the 80's for way too long and perhaps that's why I'm so indifferent about this single game - that could inevitably re-write the history books out of our favour.

Mind you, the other half of your post is pure Disney fantasy. ha

If we aren't good enough to win it, then who gives a fuck who wins it? We've been living for 20 years off the fumes of being the best club in English history, but if it's time to let that go then whatever. Liverpool exist to win trophies and do their best. Throwing matches and ever giving a shit about other teams has never needed to be on our agenda, because we aren't a club full of cunts. If you want that, go support Chelsea.

Wrong again. I posted that he used to be known as an attacking midfeilder, which I think you'll find is the case.

This season, on the rare occasions he has got forward, Lucas has been excellent, whereas I don't rate him at all as a defensive midfielder. He gives away too many free kicks for one thing.

I can't agree with that. The Benfica goal apart, Lucas' attacking play has been dire. He may have gotten on the end of things but he's been pathetically ineffective at finishing them off. Don't rate him highly as a DM either, but at least his tackling and passing in some games have been adequate if not much more.

I love 6cm. we could be having a conversation about cheese and the conversation would naturally, inevitably work its way around to lucas.

Both Aqua and Lucas, both free flowing AM's have been twinned at times with Masher at the heart of a DM pairing, whilst Stevie has been indulged and allowed to play the support striker role, as it worked so well last year, when Xabi was providing the ammo.

I wasn't saying that JJ. But his role in Gremio/Brazil U21 was a box to box midfielder. He was allowed far a more attacking role than Rafa has let him have. Note the other winners of the Bola de Ouro.

From the Offal.

Brazil international Lucas Leiva signed for Liverpool in July 2007.

The midfielder's arrival from Gremio was seen as quite a coup for Rafa Benitez, with a host of European clubs apparently circling.

Having broken onto the scene in October 2005, Lucas soon became the youngest player ever to win the Bola de Ouro. The honour is given to the best player in the Campeonato Brasileiro and has previously been won by Zico, Romario, Kaka and Carlos Tevez.

The youngster, nephew of former Brazilian footballer Leivinha, captained his country's U20s to the South American Youth Championship title in 2007, scoring four goals in the process.

No wonder senior coach Dunga was starting to take note. He actually selected the box-to-box midfielder against Al-Kuwait in October 2006, but the game was not an official FIFA tie and so did not count as his international debut. That came a month into his Liverpool career in August 2007 when he came on as a substitute in a friendly with Algeria.

Lucas, who also holds an Italian passport, made his Reds bow as a second-half sub in a Champions League qualifier against Toulouse on August 28, 2007.

The Brazilian notched up more than 30 appearances in his debut season, breaking his Anfield duck in style with a 25-yard curler in the FA Cup against Havant and Waterlooville.

Lucas was absent for the start of 2008-09 after travelling to the Olympics in Beijing, where he claimed bronze after a semi-final defeat to Javier Mascherano's Argentina.

The No.21 tallied a further 39 appearances during his second season at Anfield despite stiff competition from Mascherano and Xabi Alonso. The highlight came when he stood in for the latter as Liverpool thrashed title rivals Manchester United 4-1 at Old Trafford in March 2009.

Read the context it was put in. I was making the point that round pegs needed to go in round holes. Therefore playing an attacking midfielder (which several posters have agreed he once was) as a DM isn't always a good idea. He can't tackle without giving away a free kick for a start.

The only bit of that I would disagree with is that ideally, I would want Ferguson in charge at OT when we win it again. I'm not fussed mind because like the majority of you lads the only thing that really matters to me is 'the doings' at our club. Let's see if Frank the fan spots what i did there.

If Rafa follows the trend for this season and selects the players and the positions in which those players have been ordered, Frank and Terrier will more than likely get their wish anyhow.

Sneaky edit!

Lucas doesn't often show any of the instincts of an attacking midfielder when he gets forward. He tends to have that rabbit in the headlights look about him and is rather unsure of himself and what to do. Perhaps that is partly the product of his last couple years here and a lack of confidence, but still... you'd expect more. I think those YouTube videos we saw were simply misleading.
