I can't for the life of me understand how Ngog is picked ahead of Pacheco. Sure Ngog is bigger and stronger but Pacheco oozes class.
He just needs to get more confidence, more strength and improve his finishing.
So he just has to improve in every facet of being a good striker to be a good striker then!
He's shite.

Kuyt with a hattrick of assists, this time he helps Nemeth to his second.

5-0
Please tell me this is on lfctv tonight.

Wow, given the fact that you pretty much rate everyone Oncy, you must think he's really shite.

very impressive stuff from nemeth and kuyt.

Again, lovely little pass by Pacheco to start the move ...

Kuyt has been fantastic today ...

I like Ryan Babel.. good pace, good strength, good skill, good shot.. some good tools to be a solid player.. despite what others say, even his touch is good (a bit like Nando's, a bit inconsistent). Also, whilst some criticise his work rate, it's just one typical of any forward playing out wide. But anyhow, from what I see, there's one HUGE problem which seems to be stopping him from establishing himself in our team unit..

The guy has next to no game intelligence, at all. He has simply NO clue where to run when we are going forward, or where to be defending/covering when going back. Benayoun, just had a good break forward there, and he whilst N'gog was darting one way and Voronin trying to make space with a diagonal run going the other way, Ryan was literally jogging forward in a straight line with no clue how to make space. Just typical of a lot of his movement.

(.. and I don't think it's laziness either, as i've seen it too often. The guy just has very little football intelligence, which is usually the reason managers invariably play forwards out wide - to improve their game intelligence before moving them up top).
I don't think it's a lack of intelligence more like he doesn't have the single minded desire to get in the box rather than handing on the edge of the action in case the ball breaks there.

many of the players you've listed are young and learning their trade (I personally think sub 23 is still young, a full five years before you enter your prime).

nemeth... gr8 option from the bench me thinks next season...

I think this lad in time will develop into the next robbie fowler.. he at times reminds me so much of him..

He was unlucky last season with injuries after a fantastic first season for the reserves... If he gets fit and stays fit, he could be a very useful addition to the squad..

his finishing is sublime...

I dont care how young or old they are, i dont think they are very good.

more more thing, if the first half the opposition but bodies behind the ball, rarely ventured forwards and squeezed the space out of midfield. liverpool scored at the end of the half so if they (the opposition) wanted anything out of the game they HAD to push up and liverpool exploited the space. we saw it time and time again last season with the difference being we weren't able to get the first goal.

what have spearing, nemeth or pacheco done to avoid being listed amongst the other young players you listed? each to their own but I personally have a little more patience with young players until they are shipped out by the manager because I know full well the the value of playing week in and week out. it's funny you mentioned johnson, a player who looked hapless at the top level until he moved and got regular football.

On a completely unrelated issue how has Lucas done this pre season?
