Yes please.

Russian powerhouse-striker from Zenit and according to Daily Mail we're interested.

£6M valuation apparently. Could be a potential bargain.

I know nothing about him.

But on his Wiki, it says he is 5'9. So i doubt he will be a "power house" striker.......

Good strong centre forward.

Him and Pogrebnyak are quite underrated.

I don't think it's so much that they're underrated. People just don't know who the fuck they are.

He dismantled Ireland with Dzageov (sp?) the other week. Dzageov has been touted by Roopy as the next big thing. His latest tout was Ozil so we'll give him that one too. Wouldn't mind either player to be honest.

I remember Kerzhakov joining Seville a few back and initially doing well but they failed to secure la liga and we're pipped on the line.

Yeah, I thought he did alright for them initially.

Looked good for Russia in recent internationals.

Zenit St Petersburg striker Aleksandr Kerzhakov says he has been approached over a potential move to Liverpool.

The Russia international scored two hat-tricks in nine days for Zenit last month, and this recent goal splurge seems to have attracted Liverpool as they look to bolster their strike force in January.

Kerzhakov, 27, has since admitted that Liverpool have been in contact with his agent to express their interest in his signature, although the former Sevilla hotshot says he is content at his current club.

"The talk about Liverpool is not baseless. The British club came to my agent with a proposal but I did not give an answer. I have other things to think about and in all respects I am happy in Russia," he told told Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

"My team is in first place in the national championship and I have always said that I wanted to play for Zenit.

"In the case of Liverpool I will take no initiative, but I can count the fingers on one hand for the amount of clubs I could theoretically go to.

"This is because Zenit is playing beautiful, modern football and the club is growing rapidly. And I am here, at home."

Roy Hodgson has made no secret of his desire to bring another striker to Anfield in the New Year to take the goalscoring burden away from Liverpool hero Fernando Torres, and Kerzhakov is just the latest in a long line of players to be linked with a move to Merseyside.

Hahahaha. Quite.

Regards him being a power house, it's got nothing to do with his height, you could argue Tevez is a bit of a powerhouse too. Anyway, he was widely regarded as the next big thing for a while, what happened?

Regarded by whom? He was a 3rd choice striker in Sevilla for less than 2 seasons and that's still his career highlight. Prior to this season, he was regarded as just one of many hard-working low-scoring strikers in the Russian league. He lack of goals in Dinamo Moscow led to him being played in midfield and being dropped from the national team. After coming back to his hometown team Zenith he had a long non-scoring start, forcing the coach to defend him by saying how he "creates space for others". In the last few months he suddenly found his game, even scoring hat-tricks in consecutive games. How long it's going to last - no one knows.

Who's pog whatever his name play for.

I'm sure he was in my team on fifa the other night and absolutely lethal

He plays for stuttgart

He doesn't sound anything like the type of player we will be after. Young, yet to hit prime and potentially increase in value.

Yes, the whole point of Sabermetricks is to avoid this kind of a purchase - impulsive and based on nothing but a recent spike in form.
