Agger made a stupid mistake that could've proved costly. That we can all agree upon. I do think Keni's got an interesting point however.
Sterling was subbed on as a signal to Rodgers intent, stay back, hit them on the counter, when we really instead should've gone for more possession, holding high lines keeping Stoke away from our penalty as every team in the Prem will have a hard time defending against their airforce.
Sterling was actually not helping our course in any way as he not only committed a few needless freekicks inviting pressure on as well as giving away a few easy balls too. This is not a dig at Sterling, he is young, and is not a "safety first" player but we obviously imo would've gained far more from a Joe Allen to ease the pressure around the box rather than inviting it on, hoping to kill them off on the counter. Wrong tactical choice, if that indeed was the logic behind the sub of course.
