Spurs can offer what they like, this summer we can just smile and point to our bid and say, " He wants to come to us, so Spurs' offers are worth less than a wank over Diedrie Barlow".

This summer we are the smug ones

Even when it comes down to a choice between Chel$ki and us, an attacking player is going to choose us thanks to Maureen's bus

Yep ginger bread - Just for you lad.

You're going to need some of my floury-wank-wank for that. Although the only couriers brave enough to send it are DHL and their offices are closed now. You will have to wait until next week.

I'm wondering whether there was actually a bid and not just a rumour of interest on this one. The alleged bid was a week ago and there's been fuck all about it since.
Unless Ayre is doing his Konoplyanka 'speed bartering'.

Regardless of whether there is a bid or not, why on earth would Southampton consider selling him now?

A couple of good games for England this summer makes him 'proven at the top level' and immediately gives them more leverage. And gives us an excuse that our idiot fans can use to justify the transfer when it doesn't turn out all that good.

It's rare anyone gets business done this early. Players are away etc, we have the same every Summer, it's only May so it's early days.

Ahhh that must be where I had that date from then. Confident lad, moving his wedding as he thought he was going to Brazil.

It wont happen now. Hodgson has said no players will be allowed to negotiate contracts while away for England.
So I would imagine he will be free to negotiate straight after the Uraguay game.

According to the lad me and Septon was referring to earlier in the thread, everything is now agreed with Lallanas reps after they gave us permission to talk to him. All left now is agreeing the fee which is invitable.

In a perfect world, yea, but in reality it's all about the money and agenda driven agents.

Reds must increase £20m bid for Lallana to convince Saints to sell
Southampton holding out for more money as Lallana’s first club Bournemouth are entitled to 25% of any fee

Reds target Adam Lallana
Liverpool will have to increase their £20million offer for Adam Lallana in order to convince Southampton to part with their captain.
Lallana’s first club Bournemouth are entitled to 25% of any fee and the Saints would be expecting to pocket around £20million themselves before having to hand over the Cherries’ chunk.
Although the Saints are loathe to part with any of their star players both Lallana and England World Cup team-mate Luke Shaw, who has been the subject of a big money approach from Manchester United, are expected to depart St Mary’s this summer.
Boyhood Evertonian Lallana, who came to Southampton’s Academy from Bournemouth’s Centre of Excellence as a 12-year-old, feels that he has gone as far as he can with the south coast club.

Having helped the Saints progress up the divisions from League One to establishing themselves back in the Premier League, Lallana, who is in line to start England’s World Cup opener against Italy and has just turned 26, feels the time is right for him to join a bigger club to develop his career.
Although the player has made his mind up that his future lies away from Southampton and would be keen to discuss a potential switch to Anfield, he would be reluctant to hand in a formal transfer request to force through a move given his long association with the Saints.
While Liverpool are eager to do a deal before the World Cup starts, Southampton want to hold on to their England internationals until after the finals in Brazil in the hope that their market values may increase.
Saints are also hoping to convince Argentinian coach Mauricio Pochettino – a reported target for Tottenham – to stay with them as they feel this would increase the chances of their big names remaining.
With Southampton holding out for more cash, Liverpool have been monitoring other targets including Xherdan Shaqiri of Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen’s Emre Can but have not made any formal approaches.

if i went to South America with 25m what could i get ? (football wise )

I dunno if we'd get Fabregas for that.

Anyway, I think Lallana's great. You're a top side competing for titles and Champions leagues, you've got to pay to get talent. I'd be surprised if we did end up paying 25M, but I wouldn't be disappointed if we did.
