Adam Johnson on a free

So apparently the promising Boro winger is on a free at the end of the season and free to discuss new terms on January first.

Haven't seen him much this season bar the odd highlights but surely it's a no brainer to add a young English player for a problem position?

Would it not be similar situation as the Man City young striker that went to Chelsea when his contract was up? Were a tribunal set the fee as they can't go on a free as they are under a certain age?

He's aged 22 so can therefore move on a bosman.

Pandev from Lazio is also a free agent next summer, I read this weekend that we, and ahellofalotofotherclubs, are interested.

I went on about him all summer thinking he was free - I don't think I can be bothered to do it again. He'd be a good buy for the squad, but will probably end up at Inter.

I've not seen a great deal of Johnson, but I have to say I've never been particularly impressed by him despite the rave reviews he's gotten on here. What's so great about him?

Nah, in all serious he's a rawer but quicker and trickier Downing/Milner but probably lacking the physicality of the later.

Wasn't he linked with Madrid or something so everyone decided he was great ?

He's done nothing in football at age 22, he'll be decent at best.

TBH, I've seen fuck all of him recently, although apparently his attitude's somewhat iffy.
