This is a squad that's very frail psychologically. Go for an attritional-style game plan and, if it doesn't go really, really, right, it could traumatise them.

Set at them from the start, attack them with flair and courage, and even if you lose, you'll have excited the fans. And you'll still have the defensive option available, for when you've coached the players with greater discipline. Attacking is a no-brainer: at worst it won't work, and we'll end up beaten as expected. At best, it'll shatter the brittle-brained twats, and we'll have a famous victory.

I believe Lance Corporal Jones can sum it up more succinctly:

It was interesting seeing the 'average positions' of Arsenal players over the first two games. Sanchez, Ozil, Ramsey, Cazorla and Giroud are very very close to each other .. in the centre of the pitch. A DM would be delightful right there .. calling Lucas, don't board that plane just yet !

Neither Bellerin (nor Debuchy in their first game) nor Monreal spend too much time going forward, mainly interacting with Cazorla / Coqelain (sp.) and if Ibe plays on the left he may find some success down their right. There also seems to be a gap in between Coqelain and the rest of the midfielders/attackers and their CBs seem to sit quite deep (probably to cover Mertesacker's lack of pace). Benteke could win a lot of possession there and hopefully Coutinho / Firmino can feed off him.

Interesting Stat : After the opening two matches, Arsenal have attempted the most crosses in the PL (49, excl. corners) and Liverpool have made the fewest (14, excl. corners).

My main concern is that area right in front of our back 4 and I can't see us holding out all game. Will BR play Can in there on Monday ? However that said I can definitely see some success at the other end for us too. I initially was going 2-1 Arsenal but might revise that to 2-2.

Rodgers: "The last 10 games Arsenal have lost at home, teams have only averaged 4 shots on target with 43% possession."

Rodgers: "You don't need to dominate the ball there, you just need to dominate the space."

We're making Arse sound like a monstrous team on here. Are they?

Hopefully the players are stronger psychologically than the pussies hereabouts.

Going into a game 'to limit damage'!

Fuck that.

We only have one defensive player that can dominate the space, Lucas. So it will be a bit of a problem to dominate the space.

Yeah fuck that. Theyve been shit so far. Couldn't even beat west ham .

We need to go into this wanting to smash them . we could go 6 points clear of them , which isn't a lot but the longer we have a small lead over the top teams the better

Just as importantly, the longer we go without losing the better, especially playing the 'big teams', confidence is a huge factor in a side & helps new players bed in so much more quickly.

I just want to see that utter cunt Piers Morgan implode on Twatter as we hand these cunts their arses.

He'll probably go on a rant about how ineffective Coutinho is, and then follow it up with a subsequent tweet the next day begging Wenger to sign him.

Lucas dominate the space? Are you having a laugh? Being able to sit in front of a back four and produce an adequate protection job doesn't amount to dominating anything. The way you bang on about Luke from Bedford, you'd swear he was the second coming of Souness.

They've actually got very little injuries at the moment. A mate of mine who is an Arsenal fan said that they hired some the fitness team that used to work for the German national team. After that its been another story regarding injuries.
Except that it really hasn't been. That medical/fitness team was hired last year and Giroud, Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott, etc. all missed decent chunks of last season.

This year Wilshere already out for a stretch along with Welbeck and it's only a matter of time until Walcott shreds his hamstring again.

Rumoured team:

@Musker_LFC: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Gomez, Lucas, Emre Can, Milner, Firmino, Coutinho, Benteke.

Not bad.

My worry is still that midfield. In most games Lucas has played vs Arsenal he has been pretty slow and ponderous.

Can really really needs to be up for it tomorrow!

This isn't meant as a criticism but isn't that Lucas in every game? I like that team. We won't lose this.

More so in games where teams are fast and have intensity in the way they play.

It's fine vs the lesser teams and where you have more possession but vs arsenal they will have the ball a lot more.

I'm just wondering how Lucas can be match fit for this game. Don't get me wrong I would to see him involved tonight but when did he last play a match?

And why play him in our hardest match so far if we're prepared to let him go on loan?

It makes no sense whatsoever.

"Yeah, we don't need you, leave."

"By the way, before you go, we need you to play in this massive match."
