I think it's done. I never really allowed myself to hope or believe, but I couldn't help it after the City game, and then I was crushed after Chelsea. I've resigned myself to not winning it within the foreseeable future. I've never seen it in my lifetime (I was 2 when we last won it) and it just seems so alien and unattainable for me. Plus, as I said, I don't want to get my hopes up.
In any case, I'm extremely proud of the team. They've been great. And as others have said, 4th this year at the start of the season would have represented a great campaign. To almost win the league exceeds all expectations and we have to look at that positively.
Another point, those saying we would have won it if it weren't for the leaky defence? If we had focused more on defence, our attack wouldn't be as strong as it is. Our attack is the reason we are where we are, so to blame the defence is a little unfair I think. If we had placed more emphasis on defence we may have drew games we have won. Also, it's worth noting that the way and the style with which we play always means our defence will have a shaky time at times.
