How I feel right now...

Don't give me this we have had a good season regardless bollocks.. I want the Title!!!! Christ I've waited 24 years for the damn thing..

And another thing.. If I hear one more person say, if Gerrard had not slipped.. I will swing for em... What they forget is he is one of the players who got us into this position in the first place!!!

So are we hoping for ex 35 million pound flop will do us a favour next weekend ? I certainly am...

i blame our shite defensive capabilities and individual mistakes .

Yeah, our defensive record is pretty woeful compared to our competitors. It also cost us in our away games vs them as we couldn't defend a lead. If we had, we'd be champions by now I reckon.

Its all just a bit shit. Look at the positive, City only score +1 GD yesterday, we've just got to get a GD of +9 over the them over the next two games.

We've had an excellent season. Yes, not winning it whilst coming so close is a disappointment, still doesn't detract from our achievement.

I think I've been resigned to not winning it since the Chelsea loss. It's funny because all it needed was City to draw at Everton, and that should always have been a decent chance, but somehow it just felt terminal. I was putting a brave face on til yesterday but it's over now. I think it being drawn out over a week helped, though. It was never one great crushing disappointment like a loss to City would've been.

I'm fully in 'look at the bright side' mode now. I think we've got a great manager, I think we'll spend money in the summer, we're back in the CL, and I think we'll win the league in the next 2 or 3 years. Hell, Gerrard might still even get that medal he keeps dripping on about.

Really? I'm fairly depressed. To the point that I'm actually thinking of avoiding watching the World Cup.

Don't feel very fond of football at all at the moment.

Nah don't be like that - It sucks that the results haven't gone our way but it's NOT over yet. We'll see in a weeks time I guess.

If we win the title next week I'll let you buy me a pint for cheering you up. 🙂

I'm not depressed or trying to put positive spin on it. I think I might look back next season if we finish 4th or worse and realise it was a massive opportunity that might not come along for another few years, but what's the point?

It's like looking at other teams and predicting what will happen next season, as I saw someone do on here a few days ago, being adamant that Chelsea, United, City and Spurs will all be up there and we'll be lucky to finish in the top four. You can say that about most seasons. There are usually six or seven sides scrapping for four places, and that's before we then look at the fight within the top four. Who knows what will happen, let's just enjoy it. It's a hugely competitive league these days and no longer a 2 or 3 horse race, this is about as open and exciting as it gets and we've been instrumental in that. Teams not only fear us again, but they want to "be" us.

I think Pete has it pretty much dead on, the extra week has given me the chance to recover and look at it more objectively. I'm hurt but I'm also massively optimistic about the future AND about watching a few players tear it up in the Summer. I'm in it for the football and it's good time to be watching.

The fact that so many neutrals admire what the club has done, and what Rodgers has done, is a magnificent achievement. (And it also helps us rise above this relativistic mind-set we've been dragged into.) Loads of fans of other clubs genuinely admire how we've played and what we've done. That's something to be hugely proud of. They don't admire Chelski. They don't admire Everton yesterday. They admire us, for good reason.

That is great, but personally I'm looking forward to the time when that admiration turns to resentment and then hatred.

It hurt to lose but as the week went on I started to come to terms with it. But during the City game yesterday I found myself on the edge of the couch shouting things as tho we were playing and I realised I wasnt quite over it yet. Was gutted completely at the final whistle... but we still have two games to play and two chances for them to slip. And it is still hopefully a start of ongoing success.

Agree that it helped with a week off.

I've resigned myself to seeing City win it but I just want us to win our last two games.
If City somehow drop any points it will be a very pleasent surprise but not somethings that willl likely happen.

The heart still says Andy Carroll will be a big hero for us next sunday. But thats more a dream I think.

Agree with Peter. We're building something exciting here and I think Rodgers will win us the title.

Could not agree more. I'd like to believe we can beat crystal palace 10 - 0, but something tells me that just will not happen. Us only just loosing on the league title (on GD) is hugely satisfactory to me. I would be disappointed mind you if we dropped any points in the next two games.

Yah, the few days after the game were tough. I was so frustrated and disappointed with our naivete and inability to get the job done.

And yet ... as I write this, I'm extremely happy with what we've seen over the last 18 months. We have a manager who's just got 'it', he understands what this club is about, understands how us fans tick and understands how to mix all three together with a confidence and ever growing maturity. We have a tightly knit group of players who play footy the right way, and are eager to learn and improve. The academy is producing very talented kids who've been given opportunities to shine, and are doing so while on loan or for our first team.

Yes, last week deflated us but who are we kidding. Not one prominent journalist out there who thought we could challenge for the title this year ... We have a very solid, young base and with the manager seemingly understanding what we need to get to the next level ('5-6 quality signings').

I'm excited for next year.

That being said, I still think there's one more twist to come ... An unlikely Kop hero come next year will get his name sung when he visits Anfield next year ... Either Weimann or Nolan will ensure this season ends on an unbelievable high.

Think about it like this:

The Evertonians are all pleased with themselves, because they think they have dealt us a mortal blow by cunningly losing to City on Saturday. The more despondent you say you are, the more they will chortle with their bitter delight. It's more important to them that we fail, rather than Everton succeed.

I tell them - truthfully - that I am far from despondent, in fact I am delighted by our club's success this season. If anybody had offered us a top 4 finish at the start of the season, we would have bitten their hands off.

You said it.

After the Chelsea result I couldn't bring myself to post on forums, watch football, or discuss football. For the first time in 20 years I shut myself from the game for like 5 days. I still think there is one more twist in the season left.

Now that the depression is slightly wearing off, I feel really proud of what we have achieved this season. We must be close to the number one choice of young attacking players all over Europe.

It's ironic cos it was only a few weeks ago that many would happily settle for a CL place. Many saw it as a massive step up.

Many, including myself, were cheering our guts out for a title push/win instead...for weeks. And i'm pretty sure we'll continue to scream until the whistle is blown at the last day.

But here's the thing (and i dunno about the rest) but one thing's for sure....

I sure have enjoyed this season BIG TIME. It's been a rollercoaster but it's been MASSIVE FUN. In all my 20+ years of supporting this team, I've never seen us steamroll past opposition teams with so much panache, vigour and zeal. So I won't cry a single tear and feel all depressed about it - well maybe feel a little down for awhile - but heck, there's so much more to look forward to in life than football (and i'm being honest!). Liverpool is part of me, but not all of me. And it will always be like that. So through thick and thin, I will always support them. I'm not gonna get angry cos Stevie G, a faithful servant of the club made one (only one all season!!) costly error (where can you find someone like him anymore ?!). There's so much to look forward to cos in Brodgers, I know our club's future is in good hands.

It's never been a more exciting time to be a fan.

To be very honest I don't feel down at all. I did after the match but that soon passed (it helped I was in the rainforest of the Taman Nagara NP in Malaysia and more concerned with picking leeches off my neck and legs, and avoiding the hordes of mosquitoes, than football) !

It's been a great ride ! I have loved our style of play, loved seeing new young players coming to the fore, loved battering teams left, right and centre ... and setting records along the way.

I am so looking forward to watching us play that style of football in Europe, whatever happens it will be interesting to say the least. 2nd or 3rd and running City all the way to the wire ? I really hope we win our last two games and if City win theirs then we only lose the title on GD. That would be awesome achievement, to have matched City point for point and finished ahead of Mourinho (which will hurt him) !

It's been a great season for us after 7th last year and we can now look forward to some good transfer market work to come since better players having watched our style of football, see Suarez staying, seeing other top players coming to the team, will now be far more willing to come to Anfield and contribute to the makings of a great side.

Interesting times - can't wait for next season !!
