Started last weekend. I didn't realise cos I wanted to watch the Arsenal match so didn't look for any others, just read about it now.

Basically any TV provider that you can get in the UK will only be showing one 3pm kick off match, last weekend it was Arsenal Southampton.

Al jazeera normally show all 3pm kick offs, last weekend they didn't even show the goals until after 5pm UK time.

Basically this is shit news for anyone who normally goes the pub to watch our 3pm kick offs.
I suspect most pubs will eventually switch to iptv systems as the matches are still showing on the official online sites (al jazeera/jpg being the main one), but I bet it'll take a long while for them to get on board.

The other effect this will have is streams. There's gonna be a lot less & they'll be used by a lot more people so more likely to suffer issues.

So my month purchase to LOF was for nothing??

The opposite in fact, they have US stream sources which are about the only source for more than one 3pm game now!

I expect they will be inundated soon & may have to upgrade servers, but they're probably the best bet short off an official al jazeera sub & vpn.

It surely can't be that much longer before the 3pm kick-offs start getting televised / streamed in the UK, can it?

They must know that the number of people watching football online is increasing by the day and they can't block everything.

It's just like the music / movie industry. At some point they'll have to face the fact that they can't fight against consumer demands.

Tbf I'm on their system site to test it. It's... OK.

Get a decent amount of buffering. Looking online to see if I can see a fix but not so much yet

Man people think this is the first step, eradicating the easy access to the service elsewhere makes selling the rights easier & more likely to bring a higher price.

Buffering? Really?

I get none at all on Hd or sd. Even on wifi on my phone the Hd streams work perfectly.

What speed Internet connection have you got?

Makes sense I suppose.

I'd be happy enough to pay if the service is comparable to what is available on the web now.

According to speed test

And my pc is wired to the router.

It's weird. Not sure why my computer buffers. Does on netflix too. I'm not downloading, nothing else is using the Internet. It's shite occasionally

Bizarre, that's more than enough.

You're on virgin right? If so, unplug the router & modem for two minutes, then plug them back in.

If that's not been done for a while it causes loads of issues.

If you've got any torrent software then make sure it's stopped & isn't running at all.

Failing that it must be your pc not having enough memory to cache it effectively(or maybe even gpu but unlikely if it's buffering not glitching) or some other service running in the background on the pc you haven't identified.

so novasport, and all the scando channels that usually show Liverpool may not have them?

I unplug the router daily because it fucks up a lot. Might try and find what processes are running that aren't needed. Have a deep clean of the system.

Yep. All broadcasters except some far east & US will have one game, the same one, broadcasting at 3pm.

They're all saying that this isn't their choice, but the Premier League's decision & all are saying they are trying to get it changed, but it seems unlikely they will.

Fucking shite news for anyone like us with a motorised dish.

I'm looking at an al jazeera online sub, there's a couple of resellers doing accounts for the rest of the season for about £35, just need to pay for an overplay vpn/smartdns sub on top.

At the moment there's no way of integrating it with xbmc but I'm hoping to get a couple of devs working on it, can't be that hard to get some basic integration done, cos you don't need in stream media controls.

Nope, nothing to do with it in this case, the Hd stream is the resolution it is so uses as much bandwidth. The gfx card or gpu on the pc has to work harder but not anything else.

That means your pc is either struggling with free memory or has other services running effecting it.

Glad I'm off tomorrow morning. Gonna clean the shut off that computer. Eusing and everything.

Btw, the first national in Liverpool City centre use an iptv sub currently, so if anyone is technologically retarded they may want to go there the next time we're on at 3pm on a Saturday, whenever the hell that is.

boooo, the future looks bleak for the motorised dish setup

What bastards! I just signed up for internet TV for the footy.

Novasport lost the rights to the premiership matches, that's why I signed up to OTE, they have the premiership matches in Greece now. I get mine through the internets but you can get a satellite dish installed to pick their channels up so they might still be available in the UK.

Although if they lose the 3pm kick offs...

Their Internet feeds should be fine, it's satellite sign did they're blocking.

Which is bizarre cos it's easier to get round an ip geoblock than it is to install a motorised dish.
