Sean celebrates Friday:

Bloody Friday. It'll only lead to Saturday, which in turn will get us to Sunday, and what a bastard of a day bloody Sunday is. Then it'll be bloody Monday again. Then another bloody week of god knows what hell. I don't know why I carry on, I really don't.

The funny thing is he probably is only worth about £25mill. I mean from what I've seen of him anyway. He's not exactly blown me away with amazing performances. That's not to say I'd accept that. In this market £40Mill+ I'd be ok with. I know a few citeh mates who are a bit perplexed by the perceived value of the lad as well.

Yeah I know!!! - Something about them forking out £42 Mill (including add ons) for Mangala and how Shaw set the template for young English talent when he went for £30Mill. Fair enough.... £60mill please!

Mourinho's comment regarding Cech: "For every club that is interested in Petr, I can find a player I like in that club, too."
Considering the fact that QPR will be due a percentage of the fee, we should definitely consider a part exchange deal.

Don't worry, we won't keep it in the bank. We'll spend it all on shit.

I don't worry, I just get disappointed these days. Next step is apathy.

I just don't get the logic of selling your best to get a wad and then spending it on some unknowns or maybe's. That's not building a football team that a financial strategy.

I love the idea of just saying fuck you Raheem youre staying but his attitude and performances once he made the decision he wants to go will tell you all you need to know.
Hes exactly like Torres was, and people expecting a Suarez like attitude to knuckling down are kidding themselves. The kid has totally downed tools its plain to see, so at this stage its about doing whats right for the club.

For me that looks like 50m given that £10m of that will go to QPR we cant afford to value him at any less. Either that or negligible fee plus some top top talent to improve our first team.
Eg:Benzema from Madrid.
We hold the cards with 2 years left so we have absolutely no reason to get bent over.

I don't agree. 2 years is a very long time to be in a huff. He'll only do himself harm by 'downing tools' or even worse sniping via Ward. In his own self interest he'll want to continue to put himself in the shop window.

True. But I've never wanted a player who doesn't want to play for the club, no matter who he is, or how good he may or may not be. If you don't want to try your hardest every second you're on the pitch in a red shirt then just fuck off. I'd rather have a Kuyt than some temperamental show pony anyday.

Agreed but that's not real life. In any organization there are awkward people, you just have to manage them. If you're waiting for everyone to be happy and compliant you'll need to be very patient.

I'm loathed to see us do our dirty linen in public, but I hope wipe the floor with the pair of them in the press.

Is there any way we can do that without coming across petty and bitter?

It would seem that the only questions that remain re: Sterling are who is he going to and for how much?

He makes all the sense in the world for City given their needs and as such we should be demanding an unreasonable fee. Hopefully some other suitors will enter the fray and push the price up.

We can do it in the case of the agent, as he's behaved outrageously and worked behind the club's back. When an agent shows he can't be trusted to act professionally a club's entitled to block him, and it's been done a few times in the past. It needn't be done with any fanfare, but players need to be shown that this can't be tolerated.

If we sell him it will have been tolerated and it will have worked.

Well, no, it will have been forced on the club in effect - we've all noted that you can't hold a player prisoner if they're determined to go - and the agent came with the player anyway, but the club needs to show it won't tolerate that sort of behaviour again. Once they're in you're stuck, but you can learn from it and react accordingly. And this twat has just started his own agency and, beneath the bluster, can't afford to be blocked by clubs. He needs to see it comes at a price for him, too.

We would probably get a better deal than that (25 million) by keeping him then letting him go on a free

Compensation alone could potentially be worth a decent wedge..

If we are forced then Ward and Sterling's strategy has triumphed. Two weeks on from a transfer and no-one will care how it was done or who did what and they especially won't care that Aidy Ward is persona no grata at Anfield. Neither will Aidy as he'll be sitting on a big wedge of commission.

This is the Premier League and everybody tolerates everything when it comes to money. LFC trying to be moral about who they will and won't deal with will not impress an industry with few if any ideals.

But it's not a moral judgment that other clubs will be making, and that Ward stands to suffer from. It's a widespread realisation that he can't be trusted to act with even the barest minimum of good faith. Citeh don't care because they have enough money to make such things irrelevant. Few other clubs will be in the same boat. And yes, Ward will have raked the cash in with this deal, but that's not going to stop him wanting more, and I can't see him being relaxed about threats to his chances of getting more.

The problem for me is that it sets a precedent. The FA have done little condemn his antics, other than a half arsed interview. So essentially Jexy is right, he's got away with it. I agree with Macca too, it's been forced on the club, which is why I would want us to comment and say as such, dirty laundry or not, but crucially Sterling has got his way - a big move and a payday for him and his agent. While we have to build again without another key player.

Its not my money of course but I would love to keep Stirling for this penultimate year of his contract if only to squeeze the agents balls until the juice runs out. It costs money to run an agency and with little income until the manna of the transfer lands it would be nice to make him sweat.

Once he goes the club should make it plain they won't deal with Aidy Ward again. That little shit needs bringing down.

Can you imagine him mouthing off once Sterling is sold acting as if he's some sort of power agent.

F*cker things he's Don King or something.

The club values him at £50m and has said he won't be sold this summer. FSG will look stupid if they sell him for anything other than a stupidly high price. So either they will become stupidly rich, or they'll treat Raheem like a bitch for the foreseeable future.
