Thats like saying Steven Gerrard is worth nothing...Ireland has a value regardless of whether he came through the ranks or not. It's £26m for Milner, no matter which way you look at it - and it's a ridiculous price.

I never understood why other clubs weren't in the hunt for him but I was told City offered him 60k a week if not more and paid about 6 million for him. Didn't he have less than a year on his contract aswel?

From memory I advocated him on here and was told he wasn't fast enough.

Re Squiggles: Aren't Milner covering both right, left and center? He is NOT going to play CM at Citeh. Yaya, Kompany, Barry and De Jong are ahead of him in that position.

I think you're right. Mancini is VERY conservative, and probably sees Milner as a solid winger rather than a dynamic CM. One of Barry and De Jong will make way for him in the team.

They might line up something like this:

Hart

Defence

A. Johnson - Ya Ya - Barry/De Jong - Milner

Silva

Tevez


Not a bad team on paper, but definitely overpriced.

when you look at the players that have lined up for us on the wings in the last 10 years, fast is a very relative term.
