2-2 vs Man City, After Game Thoughts

Annoyed that we didn't win, but it sounds as though we played well, so I suppose I should be all mature about it and positive an' what not.

Look forward to seeing the 3 minutes MOTD2 allocates to this game.

I'm very happy with the path this team is taking ... Two great goals canceled out by two gifts we've gave ...

- Allen is going to be a phenomenal player in this system. All those praises he got from Pesam & Ryan (AND GKMACCA) were spot on. 15 million well spent.
- Borini's movement is great. He creates a lot of problems for defenders. His finishing & crossing wasn't there today, but this will come too. As Ryan said, "You can tell a lot about a striker by the chances he misses."
- Coates had a strong game. He made one or two small errors (the one on Balotelli wasn't really an error, he was fouled) but there's the making there of a very good CB.
- Was very impressed with Shelvey. Kept it simple, looked for the ball and was excellent. He's going to develop well under Rodgers.
- GlenJo ... strong performance.
- Stevie -> Much better. Effort, dedication and good decision making.
- Suarez - great goal, and non-stop hassle. It is going to be a nightmare to play against us with him and Borini buzzing non-stop.
- Sterling - well played young chap ... well fucking played.

Sterling ready for the first team.. A breath of fresh air..

Should start end of..

Keep Carroll.. handy to have a plan B. Need to bring him on a little earlier..

Suarez.. he reminds me of Garcia at times.. But he is just amazing to watch... need to lift his head up a bit more.. Quality Free Kick..

Allen Class Act.. Unbelievable footballer.. we got a bargain there.. Xabi would be proud...

Overall very promising.. Lovely football at times.. Think it might be a blessing in disguise Lucas is now injured.. Allen & Sahin will offer so much more to the way we want to play....

whoever put malaysia an hour ahead of Laos and hence my fucking watch needs a fucking slap.... as does ESPN in my hotel for talking the entire day about the game and then not showing it.

ARSE.

Asia sucks, its official.

FUMING... stayed up to watch a game i didnt watch..... BOLLOX.

So..... should we have won or what? from the sounds of it we gifted them goals?

Well played. Should have won. We gave them the point. Lot's of positives.
Happy but irritated with final score.

Wouldn't have been too unhappy with a draw, but after that performance, we so deserved to win.

Basically 2 mistakes cost us, against the Champions, with us under a new Manager and a few new players so that can only be positive.

Even though it seems we're a long way away from getting his system right, some of the footy we played today was just fantastic ... Fun to watch footy and smile like that again!

First and foremost, Themn, I apologise. Profusely. You were right.

Glen Johnson take a bow. Masterful performance. He's put in enough consistent performances to win me round.

Raheem Sterling: take a double bow. Refused to be over awed, have as good as he got.

Steven Gerrard, stand up straight. You shouldn't bow. At all. You didn't harry well, your passing was poor, and your fitness levels looked shocking.

Skrtel. Your Head can bow but your feet can't.

Borini: potential ninja. I can see him popping up all over the place. Such good movement.

Coates and shelvey: started weakly but came into the game well.

Suarez: you're a beast. But we knew that.

Finally, Allen. Give the man the man of the match award. Incredible. Movement, vision, strength... The complete midfield performance.

Excellent stuff, our finishing still needs work and we gifted them that point.

Progress being made but Liverpool are always up for the big games so the next few weeks should follow suit. Trick is to play like that against the smaller teams and finish them off.

Not on the bottom of the league either.

I feel sorry for Skrtel and the lads. Great team performance which deserved 3 points.

It's a learning process. This team is young - and will learn to erase these mistakes from their routine (though they'll always pop up once in a while - it's footy after all). Really looking forward to saying Oussama and Sahin ...

Great game of football. We were unlucky not to win.
Coates and Sterling came in and didn't look out of sorts.

Tremendous performance considering it's only our second league game under a new manager and playing a new system. We were up against the champions, a much more expensive team than ours, and can justifiably feel annoyed that we didn't take all three points. Great start.

Good game. We have the appetite. Hopefully for every game. Even against the weaker teams. Like last year we have been good against the top teams.

Our luck will change shortly if we continue to play like this.

I'm trying to figure out where the fuck was Enrique when Skrtel was looking for an out ball.Nowhere to be seen.
Johnson had a stormer on both flanks and helped young Sterling out all day.
Allen was Xavi like in midfield, he is a little wizard around the center circle.
Borini and Suarez were poor in the large I thought, but it will probably take time for them to form a partnership.
We can all see what Rodgers is trying to do and I really hope he is given the necessary time to prove it.

I expect more from Gerrard.
Also we have to stop gifting the opposition goals.

The result doesn't bother me too much. We're improving and the football we're playing at times is delightful.
