Youth / Reserve Team Thread... 2010 - 2013

Missed the game but great to see that Dunn and Ibe have impressed again. I hope Dunn gets the chance to join the seniors' pre-season training this year. Do we have a captain-by-committee thing for the U-18s? The offal lists Lussey as the captain for the night. I thought Dunn was the regular captain, and Rossiter captained the U-18s in the last game even though Lussey was on the pitch as well.

Thanks for that LTW. Last goal was fantastic unselfish play by a pair of team mates there. Peterson's name doesn't seem to get mentioned as much here but the few times I've seen him, he's been good.

Peterson is a good young player but ultimately I reckon he'll go the same way as Toni Silva. You have to think that at his age he's got to be starting games like this and, really, dominating them, if he's going to make it at a club like Liverpool. Still, fingers crossed for him.

U21's vs Southampton, live on LFCTV now.

Gulacsi, Roddan, Wisdom, Sama, Jones, Coady, Morgan, Teixeira, Shelvey, Suso, Adorjan

Subs: Ward, Nacho, Dunn, Brannagan, Baio

Stunning pass from Suso, Morgan through on goal and he puts it wide. If he doesn't leave this summer I'll be surprised.

Great Suarez-like dribble from Suso into the area, just ran out of space. The best thing about this performance is they're showing great movement and patience in keeping with Rodgers' philosophy. In that sense it's been very positive.

FT, 1-1. Failing with the final ball too often, but a very good, patient, thoughtful passing game that basically tired a decent Southampton side out. Suso, Teixeira excellent, Adorjan and Shelvey good at times.

Daniel Carr
Carr, 18, who has bagged an amazing 23 goals in twenty-three games for the Ryman League Division One South outfit this season, has been monitored by a string of Premier League and Championship clubs, and the Anfield side have made their move to secure the services of the promising teenager.
Having impressed Liverpool spies during his impressive campaign, the top-flight club now want to take a closer look at Carr.
It will be a major jump in class for the youngster, who plies his trade eight levels below Liverpool.
Hamlet boss Gavin Rose said: “We'd like to hold onto our boys to give us the best chance of competing in the league, which is so tight.
“If someone comes in for them at the end of the season then we would give them our blessing as a club.
“It's the normal attention from clubs but we're trying not to focus on that and concentrate instead on the boy progressing.”
