It's doesn't need snow. The pleasant assortment of baubles, tinsel and other dangling things of a festive nature is surely enough to bring cheer to all humans and Leo.

Can the jingling noise be disabled? It's a bit of a pisser in work, when you hit the bobble yokes by accident and every cunt in the place turns round and sees that I'm not working.

I'm it sure it can on an individual basis, if you're in work you may be best changing the theme entirely.

Do we have a work safe, or relatively plain theme yet?

Use the default Xenforo theme for a worksafe theme...

I am going to look at modifying it in the near future..

Add a simple banner and change the colours..

I assume some people would want a worksafe theme in more bland colours with the avatars & images switched off. When I used scm in work I used to use a default grey & blue theme as people didn't give it a second look, whereas the red catches attention.

That's a point worth noting..

I had in mind prodominatly white back ground, greyscale fonts with a hint of red for Borders, etc

Oh and a work safe simple banner..

No one seems to pay any attention to the red in my office. But the jingling is a real attention grabber.

If you are using Windows 7.. You can turn the volume down for the browser, whilst keeping the volume set elsewhere...

Yeah, I had to switch the volume down cos everytime I went to my bookmarks & passed over the baubles they jingled... It was fun twice, but after that it became a tad annoying.

Also, I bet you tried moving the cursor really fast, in the hope that it doesn't jingle. It doesn't work 🙁

Disabled the sound...

is uses flash for sounds... so replaced the flash file with a blank file...


I wander how many peeps will be playing with their PC sound thinking something is up till they realize I have disabled it!! 😀
