WWIII Return of the Ruskie

How do you know it's false?
The funny thing is that according to the Russian Orthodox canon (which I grew up in), only Jesus Christ is able to be truly resurrected – all other instances of people supposedly coming back from the dead are tricks of the Devil and any people claiming to be resurrected are demons. So even according to his own religion, he is committing a grave heresy here.

Yeah but this extremely pious dude might have a direct line into god, who has since changed things up a bit. And anyway lazarus wants a word.

One has world leaders crying in front of the cameras, screaming bloody murder and vowing to support and take revenge.

The other has ... meh.

Ugh... You would think the difference is obvious, but let me spell it out for you. Al-Shifa hospital has been use as HQ by Hamas, an internationally recognized terrorist organization that has violently attacked Israel on October 7th, 2023 and held hostages there. IDF conducted 2 major raids into the hospital which led to a massive firefight in which Hamas head of security operations has been killed along with over 200 Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters. There is a valid argument to be had whether Israel could have done more to prevent civilian casualties, but no one is disputing that the raid was directed against Hamas.

I don't even want to continue the comparison with Ukraine, because it implicitly equates us with Hamas, somehow. Ukraine is a sovereign state, not a terrorist group. Our army are not hiding behind children. The children's hospital was exactly what it was – an actual children's hospital and Russia knew it. As part of their daily campaign of terror against civilians, Russia simply bombed it with 500kg of explosives, destroying a dialysis unit and damaging oncology unit and killing several doctors and injuring hundreds, including kids. And attacked 2 more hospitals the same day, including a maternity ward in Kyiv literally in my aunt's neighborhood where 7 doctors and staff were killed.

Again, the whole idea of a comparison is highly offensive to Ukrainians and I don't think I have it in me to respond to further messages or counter-arguments. Fuck Hamas and fuck Putin and their supporters. It's really beyond stupid to post stuff like this.

While I understand your patriotism, I don't believe they actually found any conclusive evidence that Al Shifa was used as a Hamas HQ despite the fire fight. Unless I missed the memo.

That's why I say both are horrific acts.

I thought that was Zionist propaganda.

Well, the firefight kind of proves Hamas fighters were there, otherwise who was doing the shooting? As for whether it was HQ or a base or something else I'm not sure – but they were there.

And it's not patriotism, it's just common sense. Which doesn't exist on the Internet, apparently.

It's more about comparing the media coverage of Israel to vs Russia.

Similar profiles:
Racist right wing government
Annexing land due to historical claims
Little regard for civilians(tens of thousands dead) and their own military(Hannibal directive)
Attacking hospitals(32 of the 36 in Gaza have been damaged or raided)

They're not the same but they are pretty comparable, just one is supported by major Western powers, the other isn't.

Attacking a working hospital is wrong, regardless of who is or isn't in it. I don't think it'd be ok for Ukraine to attack a Russian hospital if Putin was in it.

It seems it's an uppdate to an antivirus software which has caused this.

Someone's in for a horrible weekend.

So Ukraine has crossed the Russian border near Kursk with about two brigades worth of motorized troops and swiftly captured over 150 sq km of Russian territory in a few days. There was barely any defence put up and a few hundred Russian conscripts that were sent to repel the attack were quickly captured as POWs.

It started very successfully, but even Ukrainian commentators seem to be confused by this, trying to figure out the ultimate goal and wisdom of that aggressive move, while Ukraine is fighting a desperate battle on the Eastern front, where Russians have been advancing steadily in the past few weeks.

So I'm thinking two things potentially ...

1) Gain land/POWs etc to try and force some sort of stalemate and then 'peace talks'.
2) Force Russia to move troops away from the other front, which weakens them there, and allows the Ukraine to push back there.

Yep definitely number 2. Thin the lines.

Brilliant propoganda too, "Putin's fucked up and can't defend the motherland"

Yeah, this is very chess - if you are faced with a slow-moving, but unstoppable attack, you can try to create a faster attack elsewhere and checkmate them before they checkmate you. Will it work on the actual battlefield? Remains to be seen.

UPD: looks like the Ukrainian offensive is much more large-scale than it initially seemed; this morning there are reports of 8 brigades participating and they are advancing in multiple directions. Main military objective still not clear. Reports of panic and lots of friendly fire incidents on the Russian side.
