WWIII Return of the Ruskie

Isn't most of Europe dependent on Russia for gas? Makes me wonder how long realistically countries will maintain any financial sanctions against Russia, especially with prices already going through the roof.
Bit of a lose lose for Russia turning off the gas though. They will lose more revenue through that than sanctions.

And so it's started. Missiles and mortors raining down on various cities in Ukraine. God be with the people of Ukraine, this is not going to end well.

Says a lot when Bidens response is actually tougher than Boris'

I have to agree. The way Biden stands with the people of Ukraine demonstrates far far more solidarity than the half hearted way Boris is standing by the people of Ukraine. Perhaps Boris can turn it around by upping the level of his heart felt condolences to the casualities. We'll see.

Time to nationalise Chelsea and sell off all its assets.

Although Boris will probably give Roman UK citizenship instead.

Biden says US and allies will impose severe sanctions
US President Joe Biden says he has spoken with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, and briefed him on the steps he is taking "to rally international condemnation".

In a statement, Biden says he condemned the attack as "unprovoked and unjustified".

Zelensky "asked me to call on the leaders of the world to speak out clearly against President Putin's flagrant aggression, and to stand with the people of Ukraine", Biden adds.

The US president says he will be meeting with G7 leaders on Thursday, and the US and allies "will be imposing severe sanctions on Russia".

"We will continue to provide support and assistance to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," he says.

International condemnation. Game set match Biden. There is nothing Boris can do to top international condemnation. I've talked a lot of shit about Biden, but my god, he's really stepping up to the plate when it matters most.

I can't believe we're about to win everything and WWIII starts. First the pandemic trying to scupper our last title and now this.

"We decided to launch a special military action aimed at demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine."

Interesting comment from Putin. I don't know the extent of any Nazi element within the Ukraine but I do know they bragged about being trained by Canadian special forces

It's also interesting in that Putin has been helping the far right across Europe and the US.

He has a point. Ukraine lacks diversity and inclusivity, both hallmarks of the Nazis. I think Biden may actually switch sides on this, perhaps he should hear Putin out.

Is anyone else worried that Ukraine will just lay down its arms.. and Russia will have all this new shiny 'leathal' arms to play with?

It's also interesting in that Putin has been helping the far right across Europe and the US.

I don't follow politics all that much , are they genuinely far right or are they anti EU federalism and labelled as far right ?
