and this probably won't come as a surprise to many people, but Reina answered a question about it on Soccer AM and named none other than Andy Carroll.

He said Jay Spearing was the best.

Apparently Andy Carroll doesn't like to move much.

Not sure I like the idea of one of our players coming out publicly with this kind of thing about another, even if it is true.

That said, it may be that they've tried everything else to gee big Andy up and haven't had the desired effect.

That's my thoughts, it's a calculated effort by the club to show him he needs to get his finger out. I'm sure Soccer AM ask this question every week and it's probably answered as a joke most weeks. No idea what Reina's tone was when he said Carrol was the worst trainer, but it won't shock too many people.

There's been a few things in the media , mainly from Capello , talking about Carroll having the ability but not the application . I didn't really listen to it but it's been said so often now from few different sources that you can but wonder .

There was talk of getting him to cut his hair and put him on some special training plan . Well it's frankly embarrassing that a pro footballer , a £35m one at that , needs to be managed like that . But it's looking more and more like he doesn't have the application , drive or desire to be the best . Obviously if he scores a few goals then all these stories stop but at the moment it's a problem and i'm not sure what the solution is . Nobody can tell me the club wouldn't like to go back and not sign him , surely they expected their £35m man to start most games and would prefer to have one that does .

Anyway , Regarding Spearing , he's not everyone's cup of tea but i really like him . He adds some drive and bite and there are lots of times this season where i've felt he was needed . He might not have the passing range of alonso but he gets things moving quickly in a similar fashion . At the very least he has an amazing attitude , he looked so up for that reserve game he played recently .

Nah , like you also mentioned , those Soccer Am things are all jokey , team banter and all that . There's no way the club would use Reina's "interview" as a way of giving Carroll a public kick up the arse . If they were going to do it then surely Kenny would do it himself and then it would carry a million times more weight .

But it does just highlight what most people probably suspected . I just hope it's not a running gag at the club also and they are actually working the fucker hard .

Can you still get LA Gears. Remember the days of Troop and SPX?

Anyway, Reina was answering all the questions honestly. I sensed that he is totally unimpressed by Carroll.

I think he's prefer a sausage dinner.

Not odd enough for Bizarre Foods, which Reina now presents.

Right, so where's zlatan and those other two no-necks that accused me of not being a real fan, due to my thread about being fed up with Carroll's lack of fitness ?

No-neck twats.

LOL at everybody banging on about what pepe said regarding carroll. Cop the fuck on. It's soccer am for fucks sake. Who even watches that shite anymore? I think it's great that he's calling the lazy cunt out. In reality I'd imagine Carroll couldn't give a fuck what pepe says, if his performances are anything to go by he doesn't give a fuck what ANYBODY thinks.

That's all very well, but the media will jump on any excuse to run knocking copy about LFC. I'd rather we didn't give them any.

Ridiculous. He could have said Carroll was the second coming and the media would find fault in it.

Andy Carroll is what happens when you rush transfer spending.

I don't believe he was properly scouted or researched at all. There wouldn't have been time to do it.

Got to agree.

They ask the same questions every week on Soccer AM, and he would have had to get the managers permission before filming. The fact that he mentions Carroll at all probably suggests that Carroll has integrated himself into the squad because rather than the team having problems with his work rate or personalty.
