Sweden are unbelievably bad.

Once in a lifetime run to the final, coming up against so many bad teams. It's really amazing.

Another great save by Pickford. Is it Hansern who keeps saying he's shit? Wrong again, unsurprisingly.
 
Raheem and Pickford at opposite ends of the scale here. It's torture watching Sterling, he's so frustrating.
 
Sweden were really fucking awful. Most of them had a first touch of someone who has never encountered a football before.
 
They were playing a very reserved game to start with...and just continued to play like that while England just figured out that they were very slow. Before the first goal i kept on shouting at the tv for england to speed up the play because that lot cannot cope.

I was 16
The pub was amazing, its so fun to win and be good. Dont want it to end but i know it will.

Were we great? No but totally in control of that game.
Also. Im drunk af.

I know most of you wont care. I do.
And I get that.

But this means something to me.
Not all the national pride, three lions, british media, fa circus, gazza, englands brave heros bollocks.

But its my team. And ive followed them my whole life. And Liverpool is my club, and to be fair that matters more, certainly as ive got older anyway.

But England still means something to me. I cant imagine what it must be like being in a final for England. I just cant. It blows my mind even thinking about it.
Ive seen Liverpool win 4 European cups, probably 10 leagues and a few domestic cups.
Ive never seen england win anything. It would mean the world.

And I hope you all can see there is actually a lot to like about this England side.
Not least our captain as the heartbeat of it. And he really has been.

Anyway. Like for liverpool im expecting the bump. But im LOVING the ride.

My England are in the semi final of the world cup.
Its an astonishing feeling.
 
I know it's as wrong as sleeping with your sister but I think I want England to win the thing.
 
It's looked a bit like two competitions - the WC on the other side of the draw, and something stranger on England's side, but congrats to them for reaching a semi-final, that is some achievement in spite of the uneven opposition. In 1990 the team didn't really gel until about this stage, so there's not a lot of difference. Cameroon were a hell of a lot more dangerous than Sweden were, but as the cliche goes you can only play what's put in front of you. Southgate's like a sponge - you can see bits he's taken from Conte, Klopp and Pochettino in his tactics, and he's even copied the Klopp hugs. Amazing performance from him.
