Woop woop it's the sound of the Gak-Police

I was suggesting we try to loan depay or someone the other day to get us through to summer but this is great, obviously Klopp enjoyed a bit of attacking depth last season

Gakpo Nunez Salah.

Talk about direct, pacey and goals. Gakpo and Nunez switching positions and creating movement and havoc. Havoc I tell ya.

We’re winning everything now.

No we won’t with a geriatric Thiago pulling the strings. An over the hill Henderson running at 6 mph. Fabinho turning up like a rio beach knockabout.

It looks like a good player, and I reckon a midfielder will also arrive.

But I find it a bit odd still, as what will happen when Jota and Diaz are back?
I was more expecting a Firmino replacement, a link-up forward.

Any chance of fixing the areas we need to fucking fix. We started tonight with Ox and ended the game with Keita... and we are buying another forward! Fuck me.

Well get a midfielder. Maybe not the ones we're clamouring for, but definitely someone

We were defo linked back in the summer with him, I heard Pep in the Dutch news hyping him up, impressed to see a signing fly under the radar and then agree a fee straight away instead of fucking around

Only watched Gakpo for the first time at the WC, but he's got the lot. Height, technical ability, great touch and precise finish. The price tag is very reasonable given the market and his figures over the last year.

Long term we look overloaded at LW/CF compared to the right side, but that's when everyone is fit (ha) and is also for another day to worry about.

On paper this is the type of Liverpool signing that made us brilliant. Fingers crossed he's another gem.

I’ve given up on Jota and because I’m a pessimist I’ve also written off Diaz on account of him likely coming back with only one leg. As such, I welcome a new LF for 6 months or so until we break him.

Now about a midfielder that can actually run.

All these stupid paper/online site stories about X team being “in the lead in the race to sign ….”.

Liverpool signings are pretty much done before anyone gets a sniff
That’s how I like it.

Rather Kudus, if we are raiding holland.

Nah. Gakpo is more of a leader and is better suited to the PL with his build, workrate, technique and consistency.

I like this signing good player at a very reasonable fee. But I don't quite understand it I'm terms of squad building. It's a position we are well stocked in between Diaz, Jota and Nunez. And we desperately need reinforcements in other positions

In what way given up on Jota? Due to injury record or ability?

When fit he’s boss imo

Gakpo missed 18 games in 20/21 season and more than 60 days in 21/22 season due to ankle injury, concussion, and unknown injuries. We will break him before January 15th.

So Gakpo's signing for us, we can't buy another player who is over 21 without selling or deregistering a player. Any idea who? There's no way Naby, Ox or Melo will leave in Jan besides who would want them?

With 5 subs, we need this sort of depth.

City have options up top:

Haaland - Nunez
Alvarez - Bobby
Mahrez - Salah
Foden - Gakpo
Grealish - Diaz

Hybrid forward: Bernardo Silva - Carvalho
--

Although it's likely Bobby will be sold.

Lijnders, the intensity prick? My enthusiasm for this signing is suddenly starting to wane?

I think Bobby is out of contract no?

Fucks sake. I may need to put sicknote cunt as a keyboard shortcut.

Dayum, that went from speculation (and awful title) to signed in under a page no more 100 page threads for us!
