Probably not. I do not think we need to enter the market to secure silverware. If Zubimendi was interested in joining then I'd be open to that, but nothing indicates it will. More than likely Hughes will be focused on the contracts and planning deals for the summer.

I've little doubt some business will be conducted just not any major signings.

We've always tended to sign someone in January under FSG, so I'm tending towards a yes. Generally, they seem to be players out of the blue as well.
So expect some opportunistic signing. If I had to bet, it'd be someone like Maxence Caqueret from Lyon. Easily available since Lyon are in desperate need to sell, versatile player who can play 6 or 8 and would probably be pretty reasonable.

Haven't the foggiest, and that's the way I like it. I much prefer the club to keep deals on the downlow until they're actually done.
BTW I'm far from persuaded that we should try again for Zoobydoo. I have no doubts about his ability but plenty about his mental strength.

The last 15 years of mostly watching the team and fans suffer because of their neglectful, unambitious attitude and arrogant ways.
Even when we were reached the heights once again, they left Klopp on his own....left the team to rot. Then you got cunts like Graham and Edwards who shy away from any responsability, only want to take credit for the things they get right and throw others under the bus. With respect, IMO simply saying it'll be a mistake is too sweeping. Depends on who's available and for what price.
That's fair. My post was predicated on the idea that we could get someone in who would be able to contribute in the second half of the season - either squad depth at a similar levels to what we have, or splashing serious money on someone who would be a regular starter. In either case I think we should do it because we will need fresh legs in the second half of the season, and it would be a mistake to try to save money and assume the current squad can manage the workload.
I would really like a back-up for Gomez, who is a back-up for our whole back line.
