11 games in 31 points.

Well on track to go over 100 pts

We’ve played Chelsea, and Utd away
Arsenal, Spurs and Leicester at home.

Win next week and we will be very hard to stop.

No. I think other teams are actually more competitive, even though they aren't the normal names, and I don't see any evidence that Liverpool or City are better.

Both us & City are actually worse in terms of the chances we're giving away.

We're much worse using that metric, which is a different conversation, & one that needs to be had before city.

Is every other team in the league even worse? We are setting club records despite being “worse”.

You'll note I worded it 'in terms of chances given away'. Both us & City (but more so us) are giving away more good chances this season than we did the last.

Whether it's on purpose or not though, it's working, as the results are clearly better, I was just making a point in response.

There's an argument, probably a sound one, that we're not concentrating on being as strong defensively in order to push forwards more & avoid the draws that cost us so heavily last season.

Are we though? Allison was just insane last season and especially at the start of the season there were a lot of games we won without playing very well or dominating.

Ha ha what’s sufficient 38 games 😀

I try to think about how many points we will get, if we continue to keep playing as well as we have been. I don't think we've been playing that well.

The mentality stuff is hugely necessary for this team, because it isn't as good as citys man for man, especially in midfield. But, we need our forwards to play cleaner and more precise, especially Salah, and we've been conceding more chances, all season. I don't care how much heart you have, we keep rolling these same die and it won't keep working out.

And yes, we could find better form, for sure. But we have a lot of games coming in a row, and a big drop off from our first to second team, and a precipitous drop off beyond that.

Indeed all valid points but as you said we haven’t played that well yet and we will have a purple patch, I think we have basically made Anfield a fortress so all bar the very top sides will roll over. Our only concern is a handful of away games and injuries but we’ve already proven we can manage the odd injury just not big ones or multiple big players.
