Who's been a spicy boy?

They should just say fuck it and let the teams build the cars whatever way they want. Think of the innovation that it could bring.

Still not sure on that penalty for Lando. Its another grey area that only Max seems willing to exploit.

Brake too late. Force the driver off the track. By braking too late he's deemed to be ahead at the apex.

There should be a rule that if the driver ahead at the apex goes off the track in defence. He's lost the right to any sort of "give the place back" argument.

I actually agree with this, but technically max isn’t breaking any rules.

I think they are too inaccurate when deciding who is ahead and who isn’t.

Technically they declared max ahead because he was at the apex, therefore it’s the overtaker who has to make room. But i think on this one Lando was ahead at the braking zone therefore max was the overtaker.

I think a sensible change would be to only allow that move if the person in Max’s position stays on the track. The official line is that Max got a track limit violation, therefore penalising him. A good tweak to the rules would say that a track limits violation when someone is within DRS of you is either an i stand hind penalty (say 1 or 2 seconds, and they accumulate) or you are allowed only 2 strikes and second one is a larger penalty.

As it stands Max is simply following the rules of racing and putting his cars in positions where the only way to overtake him is illegally. It’s incredibly clever and i think those 10 laps of defence were some of the best ever seen.

Lando & Mclaren had a significant advantage for about 8 races and didn’t make it count. Put any of Max, Charles, Fernando, Lewis in Lando’s position and they would be top of the championship.

Lando needs to start winning and hold the Ferraris get between him & Max.

Yep that's pretty much what I put no?

Max is a knob but he’s actually earning the championship this year

I don’t think Max is a knob. Listen to what other drivers say about him and they think he’s a decent fella. We are just spoon fed snips to make him out to be the bad guy by the reprehensible Sky F1 crew. If I didn’t already pay for Sky Sports I’d be buying F1 tv which comes across more balanced.

The emergence of Ferrari after this last break could make or break Norris' chances. If Norris can stay at the front, then the Ferraris could give him a multi position buffer against Max. He needs this in at least 2 races to get things really tight.

However, if they cruise the next few races, not only could Leclerc catch Lando, but it gives much smaller upside to finishing ahead of Max.

I feel the whole thing would be over if Max manages to finish multiple positions ahead of Norris in either of the next 2 races.

After Brazil there will be 83 possible points left. Max really just needs to maintain his gap, but if he made it even slighty bigger he might be lifting the WDC in Qatar

And whaaaaaa? Maybe the current young crop look up to Max, but the older cohort call him Crashtappen for a reason.

Can't remember who it was who said he's most likely to kill someone and he doesnt care. May have been Hamilton, sounds like something he'd say.

“I knew he’d break because he had a wife and kids” Fernando Alonso.

Did he not care either?

That was one hell of a race and performance from Max yesterday.

Watching his title lead slip away with Norris in the untouchable McLaren P1, him down in P17 (albeit it 2-3 cars now out or starting in the pit).

Drives the ass off his car in dreadful conditions to be up in P6 within 10 laps. Whilst every other top driver is struggling to keep their car on the track, he is putting in fastest lap after fastest lap. Regardless of Lando claiming 'luck' (although Lando was begging to pit on the radio, which is even funnier) Max had the pace to get right up there, finishing 32 seconds ahead of Lando even after a safety car bunching them all up.

It will go down as one of the all time best drives given the conditions, the context and the sheer domination and pace he showed against every other car on track.

Anything can still happen, but what a drive.

Brilliant drive and finally earnt a championship. All over now

Incredible season put together by Max. The gap between him and Checo shows just how high his individual level is.

Next season is going be awesome with 4 teams taking it in turns with setting cars up to bring quickest at a weekend.

I’d love to see Lewis do well at Ferrari as that would be such an iconic moment in sport but the future of F1 has never looked better IMO. This was one of the greatest seasons of all time.

Wouldn't go that far. Max went into a big lead then defended it.

There was no ebb and flow or driver lead changes.

It's better than someone just walking it (Max last year, Lewis in the dominant Mercedes, Schumacher ferrari).

But not one of the best ever for me.

For 3/4s of the season every race was unpredictable. For me that makes a great season.

The McLaren was easily fastest car at Miami onwards, which is 5 races into the season. In the last 10 races any of Ferrari Mercedes or McLaren could have been quickest at any one time. Superb.

Two time... much like City the others come with a heavy dose of an asterisk.

lol what is this? Bump your head? I understand people hate 21 but that wasn’t RB that was FIA. Which other one are you putting an asterisk on?

Maybe the one with spending too much on butties.

Oh the cost cap breach that was equivalent to one extra wing mirror being produced?

If £200k could make a car win the most races ever in a season in surprised they aren’t all doing it
