From Twitter :

More and more noise tonight, some of it conflicting, all the same conclusion, and that is that Roy Hodgson won't see the week out at #LFC 4 minutes ago via web

*does happy dance*

Could have sworn I read that tweet in another thread.

Actually it was the same person who posted it. You excited Spidey ?

I heard today that he actually prepares the players in training on how not to lose instead of preparing on how to win. He needed to realise that we where not fucking Fulham and this was his fucking downfall!!

An outsider has emerged as a potential replacement for under fire Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson. Atletico Madrid’s Quique Sanchez Flores is being considered as an option by the club who are ready to sack their current manager unless he can reverse the club’s alarming slide down the Premier League table and even though the Merseyside club registered a win against Blackburn a new appointment appears to be very much on the cards.

Florez is considered by many as the “Next Mourinho†after a very successful start to his managerial career and after two solid seasons as Rafa Benitez’s replacement at Valencia and a decent spell in Portugal with Benfica, the 45 year old had a great first season at the Vicente Calderon where he led Madrid’s ‘other’ club to a Europa League title.

Comparisons to ‘The Special One’ stem only from a very bright start to his managerial career rather than any tactical similarities. The former Real Madrid right back is a believer in free flowing attacking football he could well be just what Liverpool need in order to reignite their climb back towards their accustomed place in the top four. Florez may also believe he has taken his Atletico side as far as he can and therefore may welcome such a move.

The likes of Frank Rijkaard, Martin O’Neill and Kenny Dalglish are also among potential successors to teh Anfield throne but some Spanish sources believe that the club’s new owners may prefer to bring in an up and coming boss with real potential as they look to start a new era at a club desperately looking for a change in fortunes.

for the record I wanted rafa retained, I suspect had the board done what I wanted we wouldn't be flirting with relagation regardless of whether gerrard and torres fucked off.

i'm a bit 'meh' about flores, although tbf i don't really follow spanish football that closely. i mean, he seems to have done a good job wherever he's been, but nothing outstandingly brilliant. true, he won the uefa cup with atleti, but then they only finished in 9th place in the league. at valencia he had a couple of good seasons but was then sacked - although maybe that was harsh, like i say i don't follow their league that closely.

just seems like he's missing that wow factor from his CV.

unai emery, on the other hand, seems to have specacularly overachieved wherever he's been, and each time he's taken a step up he's met the higher expectations no problem. only one more step to make to a club with genuine hopes of winning the big trophies - i'd like to see him get the chance to do that at anfield.

Bit more reactive and passionate than Roy on the touchline

Unai Emery against Villarreal (Valencia - Villarreal)

We need a handsome manager because our side has got a lot uglier recently!

In all seriousness Emery, Flores and Lowe should be right at the top of our list.

Young, hungry managers who have a vision of taking Liverpool back to the top.

I agree with this. maybe we need a total change of direction and someone young and fresh wont be afraid to change the set up. if it's going to be revolution rather than evolution then now is the time to do it, when we don't have crushing debts. I don't see torres sticking around for such a major change but long term I truly believe it will be worth it.

The revolution/evolution argument is pointless, because we do not know who wants to stay at our club.

No revolution please. Doesn't work. Ask Souness.

you can't use souness as an example for revolution, ffs.
how about wenger, once upon a time the arsenal were a fucking boring team, now look at them. okay, they haven't won anything for a while but the change whinger brought in grabbed arsenal three league titles.

of our squad how many players are utterly indispensable? 2? 3? hense like I said if we are going to make big changes, now is the time to do it.

I'm all for Quique Sanchez Flores.

I've heard of stuff like 'the new Zidane' or the 'new Maradona' but never 'the new Mourinho'.

So Flores to be mentioned in the same bracket, he really must have something special going on for him.

Anyone other than Roy tbf.

I can use Souness as an example, because that's exactly what he brought in. Loads of babies were thrown out with the bathwater and we're still suffering for it. A change in playing style dosn't qualify as a "revolution". FFS.

Souness is the PERFECT example you can use for a revolution, Neil.

The difference with Souness is that he took over a team who were Champions and still with an outside chance of retaining the title. He took a sledgehammer to the squad too early.

Any manager we get will take over a club that finished 7th last year, is poorly placed this year, playing like shit and has a smallish squad consisting of some star players and a quite a bit of crap.
