I so much want us to hire a manager next whom made himself a name as a footballer too. No more chalk-board geeks only the real thing please.
Laudrup, Deschamps, Rijkaard, Blanc, Klinsmann, Someoneelse......

Kristian, being able to manage has sweet faff all to do with whether the person concerned was a big-name player or not. On the contrary, top players often don't make good managers.

I know Jules but in recent years the best playing team in the world has had a former player in their hot-seat. First Rijkaard then Pep Guardiola. It can work a treat too.
I know there's no guarantees but I'd be prepared to take our chances especialy with the rather limited ammount of candidates elsewhere. I'd be absolutely gutted to see the likes of Redknapp, Hodgson (I like him as a person though), McLeish or some completely unknown Spaniard or French take over.
One very positive take on hiring a former topplayer as your manager is that he'd be able to attract the best talents around. If we are in a position where we can't compete on salaray and wages we'd put ourselves in a good position to have someone with a great rep leading us.
[/quote]It has to be someone slim who looks cool as fuck in a suit too.
I vote for Didi Hamman.

Cool in a suit? Didi?!

Glad I'm not the only one.
Great player, shite dresser.
