We've missed out Mkhitaryan, Soldado, and now it's looking like Diego Costa will snub us too. We badly need another goal scoring attacker to have any serious top 4 challenge, but it looks like we're really beginning to feel the pinch of being outside the champions league for so long, no world class talents want to come here. So who the hell do we sign? There must be someone out their who's fucking ace, and would join a club outside the champions league, or are we just fucked?

Danish stock is up right now. I'd have to go for Eriksen.
BUY BUY BUY!!

Maybe, but is he really the position we need to strengthen? I badly want a goal scoring wide man, with Coutinho playing at number 10.

Must be someone scoring 50+ goals in Holland last year... Don't they have a 20% hitrate in PL? Its worth a chance...

There is a bit of a frustrating air of uncertainty around the team at the moment and it's not solely attributable to Suarez. At least for us fans.

We know that Rodgers still wants a few more players (attacker, left-back and hopefully a centre-back too), Skrtel may or may not be leaving, Agger is potentially subject to interest from Barca and then of course there is Suarez.

Here's hoping that the club have got some deals in the pipeline that we don't know about.

The thing with miki transfer, was that we were talked for ages and then Dortmund swoop in and sign him in a matter of days.

I wonder if the stumbling block isn't the fee but the wages we are offering the players.

It took ages because the agent kept preventing us from talking to the player.

If we are only offering him 50K a week and agent wants 70K then can see why.

Also we have paid silly money over past few years on agent fee, sure we are in the top 3/4 in premier league.

That's what we all thought here but LFC later said that Dortmund didn't 'swoop in' but they had actually been paying for him to train during their off-season so he would be fit for the start of the Bundesliga .. even before they bought him. The club said they didn't even get the chance to talk to him or his agent. So really we had no chance at all though obviously were unaware that this was the case at the time.

The likes of Draxler and Munain are not going to consider coming to Liverpool. We are a mid table club, these are top notch prospects. For them, joining us from Schalke and Bilbao is probably seen as a step down. This makes me sad

Who said we were in for Soldado bar internet/media rumours ? Can't make case based on that mate. Miki - see post above.

The thread is hardly based on us missing out on Soldado. Regardless there were plenty of respectable outlets saying we were in for him.

Can another club pay his wages, seems a bizarre deal?

Bilbao finished 12th in La Liga last season, and outside the top two, the premier league is a much better league, so it's hardly a step down.

This sounds like the epitome of tapping up.

I honestly didn't see any respectable outlets so who / what source are we talking about ?

We finished 7th in the Premier League and it is not 'a much better league'. Why do people have this idea?! He is also Spanish and very young so I imagine, would like to stay there, develop and eventually move to one of the big 2 there if he makes the grade.

It is a much better league and 7th in the PL is light years away from 12th in La Liga.

They had a terrible season which followed an absolutely fantastic one. Truth is they are probably soemwhere in the middle of the two of those, like us.
I really don't think any top Spanish prospects would consider coming to England except for the top 5 to be honest. Until we get back up there we will not be signing any of the top prospects from anywhere.
