Who has to go next season, and who gets promoted?

We have a few players on loan like Lazar, Wisdom, Balotelli, Yesil and Allan. Should we try get rid of all of them? I don't think any of them have made an impact abroad.

Then we have players on the first team, how we feel about them seems to change on a game per game basis. So who goes and who becomes a squad player?

The youth, Ibe, Ojo and Smith have shown promise should they get more games next season? Teixeira looks to be leaving but if he were to stay should he get more games?

Made my mind up on Teixeira and sadly he's just not good enough. I bet Klopp regrets not putting Stewart in his Europa League squad instead of Tex.

Markovic should definitely be given a chance. He's an amazing prospect.

Allan doesn't have a work permit yet and I don't think he'll get one next season either.

Yesil is gone. Sorry Can.

Wisdom gone

Balotelli gone.

Ibe, Ojo, Kent, Rossiter, Smith etc will need to show progress. Promise is just not enough at them moment.

Baloetlli came out and said he was never happy here and categorically does not want to come back .

Now , the feelings are mutual but still, he's got a nerve

Markovic has made a huge impression in Turkey. Some Fener fans reckon he's the best foreign signing they've ever made. I could see Klopp wanting a closer look at him unless they offer us big bucks to sign him on a permanent.

As for Balotelli, he's just jumping before he's pushed. I don't believe for one minute that Klopp would want him anywhere near the club.

I still think there are question marks over Lucas and Allen. The latter has done brilliantly of late, so I kinda hope that Klopp sees something there to work with, Toure, Skrtel and Sakho could go (I doubt all three will) for various reasons. Ibe maybe, Mario and Benteke are definitely gone.

Glad to hear Markovic has done well in Turkey. I've heard nothing for ages so assumed it wasn't going so well.

I think he should probably get a season under Klopp.

Ibe needs to go away and have a bit of a recharge I think. It's make or break for him next year. Ojo should come into the reckoning full time.

Teixeira, Ilori, Luis Alberto, Wisdom all need to move on.

I think Chirivella merits a special mention. I'm so impressed by his potential. IMO the best player still waiting for his breakthrough.

Where did you hear that?

I've not seen him play at all this season, but checked out his stats. He's scored 2 goals in 20 appearances (not all them starts either).

That looks like a fairly miserable season to me.

I read it in a report in the "Mirror" a while ago. He hasn't been playing a purely attacking role but shuttling up and down the right-hand side (a bit like an old-fashioned wing-half) and goals aren't the only measure of a player's contribution in such a position (or arguably any other).

Apparently only made 14 appearances all season in the domestic league, and 20 in all competitions.

Also, he is kick and run type player, I'm sure we could get Mohammed Salah for 11ish million pounds and he has scored 12 goals in 28 games.

That's what he did for us quite well last season, which everyone blasted Rodgers for, for playing him out of position, etc.

Markovich, Balotelli, Wisdom, Yesil, Alberto should all be sold regardless of bids, we should cut our losses with their contracts.
They are beyond mediocre, embodiment of Rodgers' tenure, can't watch them.

Markovic has had an injury disrupted season, hasn't he?

I find it hard to believe he's made such an impact that he's regarded so highly over there. If he has though, great... that'll be 20M.

The loanees can all go, obviously, along with Benteke as Klopp doesn't really seem to have any interest in him. Ming's spot needs seriously looking at.

I'm guessing a couple of our defenders will be given the boot. Skrtel has given us the best service out of the current lot but he's unfortunately for him he's been injured for most of Klopp's tenure thus far. Then there is the Sakho drugs debacle coupled with him having some pretty err dodgy spells this season. And Kolo is old as fuck. I have no idea and the fact that Lovren suddenly looks like the bedrock of our defence is mental.

Flannagan has looked poor since his return but there will be sad faces all round if he gets sold so I suspect he'll get another season.

In ideal world I'd want rid of Lucas but if he's a decent enough squaddie and seems fairly popular so up to him really if he wants to go elsewhere and play week in, week out. Same thing with Allen. He doesn't appear to be trusted to start games regularly but he's become something of a midfield super sub. He might want to be more than that though.

Henderson, much like Skrtel, has given us the most out of his group but he's had a pretty poor season and if that's down to long-term health issues, we can't really expect it to get any better. Without having access to the details of his condition, it's hard to judge but based on what we've seen this season, I'd entertain a good offer for him.

Ibe has a really poor year and could do with a good loan spell but Klopp made a point of saying he was against that strategy so who knows. We need pace and goals out wide and I wouldn't like to rely on anyone in the team to give us that going into next season. We need to buy. And that leaves too many players for too few spots.

Ibe is unfortunately a bit of an old fashioned '4-4-2 winger', in that he'd be pretty good working up and down the flank for 90 minutes. But in a modern 4-2-3-1 he just doesn't seem to have that extra bit of something to make it at a club like Liverpool.

It's no coincidence that his best spell for us was when Rodgers was playing him wing back.

Throw him into a Pulis flat 4-4-2 and watch him flourish

I don't think you can apportion too much blame for Balotelli towards Rodgers personally.

Although I think 'beyond mediocre' might be a bit extreme in some of these cases, I agree that I wouldn't be too disappointed if we don't see any of these again.

Maybe "beyond mediocre" means actually good? Like beyond mediocre in the right way?

Which none of those players are. They're shite.

Yeah, I think it's something I've said before meaning emphatically mediocre and probably shite. But it doesn't really make any sense, so I'm going to stop.

No, don't. It;s the playful joy of the English language. Like extraordinary. That should be like really, really fucking ordinary.

No, in that construction of the word, the Latin prefix "extra" is used to denote "out of" or "beyond"

A bit like aliens are extraterrestrial, not "really, really terrestrial"

I'm assuming, per those listed in the original post, that Allan is the big outlier of the group....

Klopp: "...oh my God, what can we do to keep this boy here and bring him into the line-up?’ He’s 19 years old, an outstanding talent, a good player with a good attitude, everybody loves him, he’s a nice lad – so that’s really, really good. He’s a smart player.".

As and when he gets a Work Permit, hes in the first team squad, by the sounds of it.

Or it's JK trying to make sure that the lad gets a work permit.
