Who from LFC's past could play in Rodgers system?

Yeah I'd never seen that before. I presume that was United we were playing. It's a truly amazing goal. I met him (along with Aldo) on my first ever trip to Anfield. Great fellas.

I'm not sure what the question means? Pretty much every top player we've had would get a spot in this team- either as a starter or as part of the larger squad. Rodgers' system is hardly unique. In terms of demands on player attributes, he just demands a high work-rate from his advanced midfielders and attackers - nothing that couldn't be worked out with acclimatisation to the system (at least with all the top players we've had in the past).

I suppose the debate really is only about slowish midfielders like Alonso, Molby, McAllister and Hamann. There's no question for me - any of them would walk in and be an integral part of our current set-up.
Well I guess I mean given how much the game has changed in the last 30 years - Some of the old school legends might struggle in the modern game. Molby is a good example. Rodgers likes versatile players that can play in different positions. Players that play in a dynamic and high energy tempo. @gkmacca has got it with his McDermott suggestion. He's right as well. From what I've seen the guy was immense. Alonso I think he would have loved as well.

I've never seen Molby play (before my time), but a lot on here say he was like a better Alonso. If that's the case, I reckon he'd be brilliant in the current system!

From an article in the Guardian online:

3) Back in 1985, Jan Molby ran for 65 yards before hitting a 25-yard screamer against Manchester United in a Milk Cup tie. But because of a TV strike, most cameras were absent from Anfield that night and the goal has assumed an almost mythical status, with supporters even mocking it up on Pro Evolution Soccer. However thanks to Ron Atkinson and Molby himself you can now see the goal for yourself. Note: you will be shocked by Molby's pace.
