...Dalglish fancies keeping in the squad then?

If we're of the assumption he's old school, wants players who want to play for the club and the shirt and is looking at building a team who will get it together in the short term while adding and keeping young players for the long term, and considering his recent purchases (as has been suggested) of Sterling and Shelvey for the future, plus his chasing of Wilson....

Who has a future and who hasn't?

I think he'd give everyone a chance. If he has any sense he'll fuck Babel off sharpish.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, there must be a few in there who he's watched over the last few months/years who he wants rid of sharpish, I'd imagine. Though there's probably a few that he'll think haven't had the best brought out of them. Who knows.

He will get rid of the players he does not feel have the heart big enough to play for liverpool so expect to see Babel, Lucas, Degen, Riera and Aqualini shown the door.

There is a good chance he will replace most of them with kids and only one or two big players.

I actually think he'll keep Lucas as a back-up tho he'll be looking for better.

Whatever his faults, Lucas did work for the shirt.

(He's still no better than average, mind)

Babel and Dungheap are gone.

Aqua will stay because no one will buy the crock, and Riera?...

Well, his issues seemed to be with Rafa, so who knows?

Fact is, I dontthink we could afford a better LM.

I dont think you should be so sure about that!

I suspect Lucas will be here next season. It would be good to see him play further up the pitch, seeing as he was meant to be a AM in Brazil, fuck knows was Rafa was doing with him....

I think it's a travesty to say Lucas doesn't have the heart for the shirt. People are confusing a lack of ability for lack of passion. I hope he stays

He's definitely shown a lorry load of heart to keep going through all the negativity he's endured.

This does not mean I think he's first 11 quality, just that I admire the fact that he didn't hide or start acting the cunt.

You just believe what you read in papers too much. Torres will be here next season.

As will Gerrard.

I expect Kenny will be canvassing the players intentions as we speak.

It's going to be one of the first questions any prospective Manager will ask.

I can't see Kenny selling them the LFC of Torres, Gerrard, Mascherano, Reina etc etc and then telling them on their first day that in fact they are all leaving.

Does Krisztian Nemeth qualify for the home grown status? He just made his international debut vs Germany a couple of days ago and it will be foolish of the new manager not to allow him a serious crack at first team football.

How did he do?

If Kenny takes the position I'll expect Gerrard to stay. Whatever is said about Torres won't change the fact that he'll stay. Mascherano in my opinion will fetch us a tidy sum. Definately a goner!

Riera, Degen, El Zhar, Babel, Lucas, Ngog and possibly Kuyt must be sold. We should be looking at about 60 million quite easily for all those players. Apart from Mascherano and Kuyt, there are no other starting 11 players. Take the money and invest in at least 3 quality first teamers. We can do a whole lot better. The sheer numbers though will leave us a bit thin. King Kenny has some wheeling and dealing to do.

Mascherano wants to go, so that'll probably happen. This will create something of a kitty.

I think most other players will be given a fresh chance though, unless they express the desire to leave.

The thing that does excite me about Kenny is that he seems (by recent signings) to be intent on picking up good, young British players. Obviously I'd love us to sign some World Class players, but it's kind of refreshing to see young homegrown(ish) lads coming in as opposed to pinning our hopes on a mid-priced foreigner.
