Think it's me next. Will try and make this slightly harder.

This reefer-smoking-looking defender gave the impression of long-term successor before it all fell apart not long after

Yeah, that's the header!

Morientes was the none scoring Spaniard. Was my first thought before going for Alonso. Cisse also scored in that game, according to my research.
My first game at Anfield.
Much to my shame for an old codger like me.
There wasn't a dry eye in the household.

Lovren?

His first game was a 2-1 win against Southampton.

I can't think who else you could mean

I’d say the player is Sakho. I can’t think when he made his first major fuck up or bambi on ice impression.

Coates and the amazing over head kick. Think we lost the game anyway. Maybe against West Brom or West Ham.

You guys are nuts. I cant remember what happened this morning, let alone particular matches based on esoteric clues.

My memory is very odd. I'll often forget what work I did the day before, but I remember the release dates of pretty much every film I've ever seen.

I only even realised by a chance conversation at work when someone thought how weird it was I knew the date of some old film, then everyone started quizzing me and I just knew them all.

So yeah, it's weird.

See if that helps. It was in 2012. Name the opponent and you can win it
