Where's Sturridge?

We're getting slapped about by relegation fodder whilst he sits on the bench. He got off to such a good start, and now it looks worryingly like we're following the old tried and tested 'Ruining a Perfectly Good Player 101'.

It's completely suicidal to pick the team we did for Southampton ever again. So Rodgers needs to do something else. Downing should go to left back as he at least works hard to stop goals, and Sturridge should be added to our attack as he at least believes he'll score goals. I'd be happy with that because Enrique pisses me off. If it goes wrong I'll still be happy as Rodgers will be in for a ton of abuse for it.

Because he's been on the bench for one or two matches? Yesterday was the only time he's sat on the bench while fully fit. The rest of the time he's either not figured at all or been on the bench due to being out with injuries, when fit he's started. He traveled with England last week after having a niggling injury, so maybe it was just precaution. You can hardly say that because he's sat out one game that we're following the route of ruining a perfectly good player. And for all the getting slapped about - we won, without Sturridge.

I think the reason can be put down to Sturridge being poor in his last couple of matches and also didn't work particularly hard.

Also we've been out played in the middle of the park by Southampton and argubly in the game before that too. Sturridge making way for an extra midfielder away from home made sense to me. I would have liked to see him come on against Villa though, especially when Lucas was contributing very little and giving away far too many fouls, or even when Suarez was starting to tire at the end. I'm sure he'll be back into contention before long.

This is why I don't start threads. The actual truth is I was interested to know how Sturridge would play and in what type of formation. But Dantes has an image to protect and can't be posting gayer topics about formations. So I used the depths of my genius to introduce a conversation that should eventually have lead to the answers I was seeking. Instead it's made me end up looking stupid.

The cretinous Ross will pay for this.

He was shit in the last game he played. Downing, Coutinho and Suarez weren't. Do the math.

I think we'll see Sturridge in the next home match, Rodgers might fancy another crack at the 4-4-2 against West Ham or we'll see him whenever he thinks Coutinho needs a rest because that's who is keeping him out of the side imo.

I think he'll start against West Ham. Lucas and Downing out - Sterling and Sturridge in is what i'd like to see.

Btw, he was absolutely brilliant with the fans outside Villa Park at the weekend, hung about for ages signing autographs and allowing fans to get a pic with him.

I love it when players take the time to do that. I saw the same from Aldo and Molby years ago at Anfield. There were signing stuff away merrily for at least an hour. Good stuff.

That would imply Suarez has to track back on the left wing in order to accommodate Sturridge. Nothing good can come of that.

It won't, it'll imply..... *gives in*

He's been carrying an injury since his 3rd game in so its hardly surprising

How the fuck is it ruining a player when he isn't picked for 1 game that we win.

Fickle fickle fan.

was gutted when i saw downing ahead of him - hope sturridge was carrying something otherwise it is a crime.

Downing's been in the team for months, so how is he getting picked ahead of him when everytime Sturridge has played, Downing's played?

Alot of players were picked ahead of him, for whatever reasons. Quit with the Downing agenda bollocks, you sound nearly as bad as the Downing obsessed half-wit.

I can't be gutted at seeing our great new striker who has had a fantastic start on the bench and our over paid and under performing winger in the starting XI instead?

Haha some of this is fucking looney stuff.
He has been fucking great since he arrived and been one of the main catalysts for our improvement, had an injury and come back into the team has one slightly off game, show him some respect.
It will be Lucas that makes way for him obviously, if Hendo gets dropped again for no reason even I as one of BR's biggest fans will think he has lost the plot

Mark almost had it

Lucas won't be getting dropped guys.

I wouldn't bet against it tbh. He looks knackered and we're at home to West Ham.
Dont see any reason why Henderson and Gerrard can't take care of the midfield for this one.

Sorry, are we talking about this one game or on a longer term basis? I'm confused.

Yes, where is he???

Oh sorry, I thought we were talking longer term. Fuck knows what Rodgers will do for West Ham.
