In Singapore? Go to Chin Chin Eating House at Purvis Street. Hainanese place, their Hainanese chicken rice and pork chop is super. Don't know about the price though, and it's normally very crowded.

This is something we dont need tabasco for:

teh-tarik.jpg

teh tarik which means pulled tea, brewed like this

16Tekka_jpg.gif

which is enjoyed (usually) with roti canai with dhai

for breakfast, elevenes, lunch, high tea, dinner, supper, late supper

What does pulled tea mean ?
oi, look at the picture lah

how long do you want your tea pulled? you may order by the yard 😉
Why is he pouring it in the glass form a high distance ?
the further the distance the more air is trapped and the more frothy the tea, the nicer the tea is. you may add ginger, cinamon or other herb to the tea if you like.

I've had that too, but mine was filled with condensed milk and sugar.

ving, ask for kurang manis ie less sugar. condensed milk is a must to make the head of froth.

Yes,roti canai with condensed milk and/or sugar is very popular.

But to me,that's a bloody abomination.

It should be eaten with piping hot dhal curry or some sort of fish/meat gravy.

And no,I dont use tabasco ;D

I like 'teh tarik' or 'pulled tea' too,but I rarely order it because it is always sickeningly sweet with condensed milk. You can ask for 'kurang manis' ie 'less sweet' but they usually ignore you,the bastards.

I like my tea stronger.

I do admit tho, that watching someone pull tea is pretty fun.You should see how tourist's jaws drop when they di it.Bona fide tourist attraction.

the art of making roti canai is fun to watch too

Well it wouldn't have surprised me if you had developed a way to eat in your sleep. The amount of food you get through and time you spend thinking about it is borderline mania!
