Whats everyones favourite meal

Nasi Briyani. I think this is chicken briyani. Hard to find a decent picture. I love the saffron rice.

Now, fury will show you some more of the sinful food he indulges in from time to time.

jalankayu.jpg

Murtabak. Ohhh-lala, to quote wikipedia:

It is made from a thin dough filled with minced meat, usually mutton, and fried on a griddle until it turns golden brown. The fillings also include garlic, egg and onion. Martabak is served with slices of cucumber and onion, and a bowl of curry sauce. In Indonesia, Martabak also tends to be served with some kind of dark brown sauce made of vinegar and palm sugar.

I love the mutton variant.

Thai-Chicken-Satay.jpg

Satay.

Satay is a dish consisting of chunks or slices of dice-sized meat (chicken, goat, lamb, beef, pork, fish etc) on bamboo skewers, which are grilled over a wood or charcoal fire, then served with various spicy seasoning (depends on satay recipe variants).

I prefer chicken for this. The spicy peanut sauce is to die for.

warm_varholna_chocolate_lava_cake

As requested by Y1, my introductory class to all things chocolate. Here we see a molten chocolate cake. Absolutely brilliant. Absolutely sinful.

Err, picture says it all. Gotta love their Bailey's truffles.

There are some things in life I cannot stand, and French Onion Soup is one example. Je n'aime pas beaucoup. Eugh. Aussi french beans.

I'm going to drop you a line next time i'm Down South. 8)

You certainly do know good food when you see it.

I was down in Singapore 3 weeks ago,and my friend insisted on taking me for some 'authentic' Singapore Laksa.

I've had better in fucking Jalan Alor in KL.

Mutton briyani and murtabak is fantastic.

That looks much too mild for me. ;D
Just add some tabasco 😉
Nah,tabasco would ruin the gravy taste.

Chili padi is much better ;D

I have just returned from a local restaurant run by some very friendly Nepalese people.

I had Lamb Tikka for a starter and then Tandori Chicken served with a Pokhara sauce. The Pokahara sauce is basically a variation on a Dhansak sauce, but with Pineapple instead of lentils and this particular chef gets the sweet bit by using organic honey.

It is absolutely incredible. I shall take photos next time I'm there!
That sounds great,Van.

Next time, dunk a bit of tabasco sauce in it.NOt for the tikka, but the tandoori.

NOw that's what I call fusion foods ;D

Mutton briyani is great with tabasco ;D
Mutton is kebab meat isnt it ?
It's sheep, probably better for biryani than lamb because its cheaper and will soften during the cooking process (no need to waste sweet lamb meat if you can get away with the less expensive mutton). Most of the kebab I've had was made with lamb (young sheep).
That's exactly right.

HOwever, it does also depend on how the briyani is made.Authentic briyani requires the meats (chicken or mutton usually) to be 'beked' into the rice. But some versions in Malaysia cook the rice separately, because some people prefer the rice to be drier. For those kinds, you can find chicken, mutton, lamb or even beef sold separately.

Never pork of course because Briyani food is Moghul cooking and is usually cooked by Muslims (just in case someone's curious)

Love mexican and thats exactly what i had last night eating out, bit of a let down really..
