What does the Fox say? - Post match

After reading Bluefume I might have been mistaken in my admiration:

Their football is awful however they're good at what they do. Particularly when they are allowed to do what they want on the pitch. Foul with impunity, cheat, dive, push players into hordings, attack coaches, play the victim whatever.
hahahaha. They're brilliant, aren't they?

Tough set of games, yes. Whilst City's are far easier ... however come on, it's not like the season ends after them, there's half a season to go so we both have the same teams to play. Our next 6 after that are cannon fodder whilst City's are very tough. Swings and roundabouts.
That's kind of my point though. If we were to drop points on a couple of occasions while City keep winning, the gap could be 6 points end of January. Then people are talking about the pressure on Liverpool and blowing a 17-point lead. Things can change quickly.

Based on last season we would be fools to rely on any other teams to do us favours. They just kept winning and none of the others had anything worth playing for. The current policy of knowing we cannot drop points, we have to win, we only focus on the next game is the right way. There is no room to rest until the season is over.

Err no it couldn't. Drop points in two games (draws) and City win all theirs and there would still be a 10 point difference, that's not 6 (even two losses would still make it an 8 point lead, and it's extremely unlikely we'll just suddenly lose two of our games). And we don't have a 17 point lead - why do people feel the need to exaggerate it ? Is 14 not enough 😀

Just for clarification in case there is any confusion : we can still reach a maximum of 112 points, City a maximum of 98 points, so even if they were to win the next 20 on the bounce, we'd still have to drop 14 for them to take it on GD. Likelihood is of course City will drop points somewhere along the road so even if it's only 2-3 draws that means we have to drop 18-20 points in the next 20 games having dropped 2 in 18 games so far this season (and 79 out of the last 81 across last two seasons) !

Of course I doubt we can keep this up but I also don't believe we are going to lose anywhere near what it would take for City to overtake us.

The bookies realise the unlikeliness of this happening (not the impossibility of course) with us 1-9 on now and City 7-1.

After we played Bournemouth we were 17 ahead of City - yes, we'd played a game extra, but 17 was the gap until City beat Arsenal the next day. Until we play the West Ham game they will have played a game extra, so 11 is the gap if we both get the same scores. As I said, if we fail to win a couple (say 1 loss, 1 draw) and City keep winning, then it would be 6 at the end of January - albeit with a game in hand. But there will be a different feel about it then. And - to answer your last question - no, 14 is not enough! I won't relax unless we have a 20 point gap with all players healthy - and still have that game in hand.

I can tell you where they will fuck up:
1) Wolves tonight
2) SHU both home and away.
3) United away
4) Spurs away
5) Us at their place.
6) Possibly Leicester away,

People continue to disregard games in hand (esp. on BF or RC) as if they don't exist. Do you work for Sky 😀

20 with no game in hand will do me.
