Wespect for Woy?

It's a bit of a mystery to me. Also, if it is not on Sky, why is the kick-off 4.00? In my opinion that is a bit less convenient for spectators than the traditional 3.00.

Something to do with this shite

I actually think it is true to a degree that the fans didn't give him a chance, but then he didn't do much to deserve any more of a chance. The way he acted means that I don't have much sympathy for him, but I do have sympathy for the circumstances he walked into. It would have been an impossible situation for any manager, but what the media choose to ignore is the embarrassing way Woy behaved which only made matters worse for him really.

I don't want to see him boo-ed. I don't like seeing anyone boo-ed, as apart from anything else it is counter-productive as half the time it will just spur the opposition team on. Singing 'there's only one Roy Hodgson' is obviously inappropriate but polite applause won't do any real harm.

There once was a man Called Roy
Who treated LFC like a Toy
With his stupid words
And tactics like turds
He always tried to be Coy

He was hired by a gimp
A stupid little wimp
To bow down to the Yanks
And take all their thanks
To the media his words were quite limp

We played Everton and lost
(A game he claimed we bossed)
It was a shame is what he said
To beat teams with the Reds
And relegation nearly was the cost

Utopia!! He cried
And then went and lied
"This isn't helping he said"
The braindead stupid Ted
The fans got wise and they did Chide

Until one fine day
The new owners they say
Roy. Fucking do one
You clueless horrible con
Bye bye bye - now away!

And then he left
And the media were bereft
But real Liverpool fans
Reallly hated this man
So fuck off Roy. You big stupid meff.

Holy shit.

There was a young man from Japan
Whose limericks never would scan.
When asked why this was,
He replied "It's because
I always try to fit as many syllables into the last line as ever possibly I can."

There was a young man from Madras
Who had two big balls made of brass
When they banged together
They played "Stormy Weather"
And blue smoke shot out of his ear

.

The most obvious way that he could have started to ingratiate himself at the start was by allowing the club's PR people to play up the fact that most of his wife's family are Scousers, but apparently he insisted they were kept completely out of it. Quite noble in a way, but, as you say, he seemed intent on making things worse and worse for himself. I hope there's no booing today, not least because it'll only prompt more media moans about us at a time when we all need to move on.

I've wiped Hodgson as LFC manager completely from my mind. He's not even an afterthought now, never mind someone to boo.

I think it was a function of his having bitten off disastrously more than he could chew, not so much "F'ck you" as "Help!". The plain and sad fact is that at a club like Liverpool he proved as far out of his depth off the field as he was on it.

It was heading scratchily stupid though the way he approached the press, there's being a bit of a small fish and all that and there's being completely thick and oblivious to the mentality of the club. I'd love to have seen his interview if he ever had one. It's not your standard case of a manager being out of his depth, he was an expert at alienating himself from the fans.

He's effectively Dalglish without the comic face-rubbing.

They’ve both bought absolute spastics, they’ve both some out with absolute shite in interviews, they’ve both been horrendous in the league. The only difference is that Woy fielded a weakend team against Northampton, whereas Dalglish put a full side out against Exeter City.

What's that great expression? Ah yes " shurrup outta dat". Ryan methinks you try to make this point too much. Selective comparison and all. Give it a rest.

Truth be told ryan, I didn't get past the first sentence before I pressed the like button.

I am just looking forward to having a manager in charge that we can all agree on and get behind and give the time to get us back to where we belong.

Well. that is what I said in January 2011 anyhow.

And people were behind kenny. He had a great few months

But the honeymoon period ended with a bang. Our tactics seem to be mixed with no discernible pattern of play other than "let suarez make chances".

We haven't kicked on as much as we should have mainly because we lost players and didn't replace them adequately. Its the same story year on year. ATM i'd be happy to keep kenny because we have a mid-table squad and we're mid-table.

TBH Mark, I think the one led to the other. I don't actually think Hodgson is a stupid man. I think he found himself in over his head and, as drowning men will, he started to thrash around in desperation.

Is your creaming over Arry finished or do you still think he's a top manager?

Hodgson without the face rubbing? You talk so much sense 99% of the time, and then you come out with shite like that. Oh and don't forget the Redknapp shite too. The man who loves overspending on 'now' players rather than investing and developing, without the biggest cheque book outside of manchester and his little bungs he would be just another Championship level manager. He is more of a serial transactionalist than Rafa. And that is saying something!

I do think he's a good manager. Why?
The other week, he admitted he played a system (4-4-2) that he knew wouldn't work, that the players asked him to play, and it went tits up. He admitted he realised it after 30 minutes but didn't change it for the second half. No plan B or C once the initial system is failing. That is the biggest pointer to me that he stumbled upon the formation that he has used at spurs for the last couple of years and has no idea how to be flexible or deviate away from that. A good man motivator who can get his players to die for him, yes. A good manager of a big club, he is not.
