We're dickheads

I think it is all bollox. All of it...we just make noises in the press with no intention of buying anyone. I think the real budget was 50M and we have used that up. All these rumours in the press are just manufactured to appease us fans into believing we are gonna buy big and think big. I think the only thing thats going on is us deciding if we want to cash in on coutinho and pay off some debts.

Ding Ding

It won't go down too well with some, but I honestly think we should go for Sami Nasri on loan for a year with an option to buy. City want rid but he's shown his fitness in preseason and he is just the sort of experienced midfielder who would give us some control and game intelligence. At his best, he's a top quality midfielder - one of those players who rarely loses possession even in tight situations.

Would cost us fuck all, City would probably pay some of his wages and aged 30 he has something to prove.

Nasri would not be an alternative to Naby but we desperately need more options in centre midfield with Europe this year and we can save our cash for Keita next summer (or January if they are out of the CL).

"Puts hard hat on swiftly"

Fucking hell, just NO.

I still don't buy this at all. It's just a bit too tinfoil-hat-mental for me to swallow.

Unless you really do expect us to believe that LFC strategically devised a transfer plan that involved targeting two players they KNEW would never join us, and then spent the entire summer publicly chasing them, and making several official bids for them, knowing they would be turned down.

Sorry, but I'm not a total swivel-eyed conspiracy loon.

Madness if what Pearce says is true. Especially with Can not committed to a new contract and Coutinho being brainwashed by the Barcelona Cult.
I just don't believe that there are no players who could come into centre midfield and improve us other than Naby Keita whether they be starting material or squad players.
How many games did Lucas play last year after the club tried to sell him last summer and again in January? 19 starts and 12 sub appearances. Who's going to fill that gap in the squad then?
It looks like Klopp and the club are willing to pay for quality but not on necessity.

I'll be very interested to see what happens after (if) we qualify for the CL group stages .. and if that is a factor perhaps.

My suspicion is that maybe a big factor. Maybe we will push our bids to the next level if CL is confirmed.

I'll get some 2cb dropped off shortly. Maybe some x too, we'll do some nexus flipping.
2cb is a hallucinogenic drug that also has some stimulant qualities.

It was originally made by the genius Shulgin.

Sold under the name nexus in Holland many many years ago.

X is ecstasy.

Nexus flipping is taking ecstacy then taking 2cb, so you're all loved up to fuck & then get hallucinations as well.

It is a fucking amazing combination when camping.

I honestly do not believe our owners would pay the sums that are being mentioned in media for the two players - it is just not in their character. Part of me suspects that we have made our interests clear to them and have quoted some prices that are in today's market below the expectations of the other club. I honestly believe Klopp's budget is limited to 50-70M tops. Those saying that Coutinho's head has been turned by Barca - I would say FSG's head has been turned even more by Barca.

As for those that cannot understand why we don't seem to attract certain players - I am certain it has to do with not being in Europe's top competition enough in the last 8 (or whatever number) seasons. I think if we qualify for the CL and do really well this year in the competition - then maybe next season's recruitment maybe easier.

There is another sports team they own and you can see their attitude to spending there.

They've signed lots of huge deals with players (often turning out badly)

As things stand, last season's transfer window was a lot more profitable. Matip, Mane and Wijnaldum were solid additions to the first team, and resulted in a significant (though not transformational) increase in quality.

This year we've just added one player who'll upgrade the first team.

The other two are really squaddies for depth.

Not increasing first team quality significantly in a CL season is just criminal.

We don't have a huge window with Klopp at the helm. It's about 5-7 years tops, and I'd say that the 3rd/4th year of that window is probably the most critical. Now is exactly when we need to pull out all the stops.

I'm just waiting for someone here to say, "you know what, it's a good thing that we didn't get Keita or VVD we don't need them, our squad is actually quite good" and then proceeds to list players and laughable expectations.

I'd be happy if we were a bit like Spurs and said fuck this, we ain't buying as long as the market is looking like it is.

Yep this is true, only the CL for us this season.

Squad for the last friendly in Dublin:

Liverpool squad: Mignolet, Karius, Ward, Alexander-Arnold, Flanagan, Gomez, Matip, Lovren, Klavan, Moreno, Milner, Robertson, Can, Grujic, Ejaria, Wijnaldum, Woodburn, Salah, Kent, Firmino, Origi, Solanke, Mane.

With a week of August already gone, and no no sign of any transfer activity, Henderson ill, Sturridge, Coutinho and Lallana all injured .........it really does not bode well for the season ahead

Would rather see one of Grujic or Woodburn in CM than Milner to be honest. Can and Wijnaldum with that other person.

Last friendly before the season starts so I don't find those with niggles missing out, let's get them fit before match fit.

It'll also be good to see Milner, Ejaria and Grujic in midfield and Robertson at LB.

Also because it will be all we fucking have when it comes to February.

Isn't it him that keeps saying he only wants whoever? He's doing my fucking head in. I reckon he did a deal with the lizards to be the next Wenker.
