We're Dickheads (Revised Edition)

Am I upsetting you Steve? Obviously. Please don’t let it. Put the Spider-Man trilogy on there and play with your R2D2.

Hahahahaha.... upsetting me???

Hahahahaha... is that what you're hoping for.

To "upset" me. Awwww bless.

Poor the Raz.

I think the worst thing about enduring that fucking debacle on Saturday was that it was so bad it gave you the impression it wasn’t an isolated performance. It reeked of January 12 months ago when you watched us and couldn’t figure out where and when the next win was going to come from. We’ll be fucking rubbish now for the next month, you just know it.

I don’t think it’s a signing (or lack thereof) issue either. We’ve been watching that horrible triumverate of shite goalkeepers, width-less attacking, and fucking dreadful conceded goals for a decade now. Thomas Lemar, or Mahrez, or whomfuckingever isn’t going to fix that for 70M-odd quid. It’d give us one less thing to complain about, but that’s it.

You could have a point there - but having an extra creative player could get save you on those days which I am sure will continue to appear. I have a feeling it's not going to be a month's worth this time round - could be just those two games and that's it. Last Jan was bad but we had a load of injuries and we were definitely short of any winning talent on the pitch. This time - most of them are fit and we are fucking up - that is the scary part. Anyway bottom line is that it has been so bad in terms of performances and output from the majority of the team that it cannot get worse !!!

Mahrez would be ace.

But a defence that wasn't shitting itself all the time and a midfield as good as any in the top half of the table would be preferable.

I'm happy to admit he was a fucking tiny component of the problem alone, but I really absolutely fucking despise Alberto Moreno. With like a lot of hatred. A lot.

I'd be delighted to never see that grinning fucking simpleton never play another minute for us.

Mahrez would be ace.

Sure he would, but then he does his best work drifting in from wide to that area 35 yards out from goal directly in front.

An area where someone must have dropped a fucking rollover weekend lottery ticket at some stage we've got that many fucking cunts falling over themselves looking at the ground.

Haven't City bought this mythical French Iberian defender who dribbles like Messi, passes like Xabi, defends like Carra, and heads like Hyppia for 70 million?

Again I would like to emphasize that I am not crying because we are not competing with Utd and City in the transfer market. We have some obvious flaws in our squad which could be addressed with some aggression in the transfer market within our budget.

Simon Mignolet has played 202 games for our club. That is at least 152 games more than what he should have played. The goalkeeping issue should have been fixed and we are still paying the price for having two clowns in goal. We could have had atleast 3-6 points more with a competent goalkeeper.

By the way, he got a new contract soon after he did this:

If we offered him a new contract despite that and all the other evidence in front of us, then there is only one conclusion to be made "We're dickheads".

Btw @Hansern, I know you get a lot of heat from other posters for your constant positivity 🙂, but I do admire that. While I do a disagree with a number of your posts, I wish I could be as positive as you, but I am unable to 😉

City havent bought anyone, yet. But they probably will get Laporte. Arse will get Aubameyang and Spurs Lucas Moura.

I wouldnt say I’m overly positive these days mate, but thanks. 🙂
I have an issue with Ming and Moreno and still feel we need another signing this window.

That said I’m not looking at form for the last 3 games and getting all worked up. Several others are constantly shifting between that we’re either very good or very shite. Either praising us or having a go. Some middle ground would be make more sense, and is probably were I am these days. Thinking that we’re on the right path but there will be set backs along the way.

As for other posters giving me heat its usually the same ones. Mark, he you can have a discussion with and he’s sensible. Ross, is just Ross. Terrified of not being correct all the time. And Brendan, who is just weird really.

Cant say I’m to bothered mate...

Well.... maybe we are the new Arsenal after all.

A manager that never seems to address the obvious flaws, mostly prefers developing players over splashing the cash.

We'll celebrate finishing 4th every year.

We'll play some lovely football pre-Xmas and post Easter.

Our season will generally end in Feb when we are bumped out of whatever cup competitions we're left in and successfully allow our pretence of a title challenge peter out.

Our best players will continually leave for more successful teams.

Every now and then we'll win a cup.

Sad thing is.... it would be an improvement on the last 5-6 years...

If Klopp doesn't address 3 main areas then he'll ultimately fail as Liverpool manager.
1 - Get a genuinely good Goalkeeper . He's brought in Karius who's been shite and continued (off and on) with Mignolet who we knew was shite before Klopp came in.
2 - Get a capable defensive midfielder in who will give some protection to the back four. He hasn't even tried to do this and the team is crying out for one. City have Fernandinho, Utd have Matic who's improved them no end, Chelsea have Kante , Spurs have Dier and Wanyama. Arsenal don't have one and they are just as porous as us defensively. Keita may help with this but it's my understanding that he's more of an all round player than specifically a defensive midfielder. If that's the case then it's another compromise that could backfire on us.
3 - Play and buy defenders that can actually defend. Too many of our defenders and more specifically full backs can't defend to save their lives. Gomez had made so many mistakes this season that have led to goals it's approaching Moreno standards. Alexander arnold just looks out of his depth when he has to defend and is surely better in midfield.
Everyone knows moreno is shit. Robertson is the only one of our full backs who have played this season that looks capable.
Oh and Matip and Lovren are shit too.

Heh, it's more or less the truth though. Only Robertson has done himself any justice this season in the defensive positions. Can and Henderson have failed in the DM role, Matip has been worse than last season, Lovren is the same - a couple of good games then catastrophe, Klavan can't get a game and the right sided full backs are promising but both arguably out of position. Neither keeper is good enough. Neither is Moreno. That's alot of holes to fill and we were saying exactly the same thing last Summer and possibly a couple of windows before that.

It's criminal that it's not been sorted and all this talk of longterm plans is fruitless if our best players get pissed off waiting.

It's hard to have a long term plan when we keep losing our best players to teams with more ambition and more cash. Having said that if you look at our first choice eleven how many are nailed on certainties for this long term plan?
Salah, Firmino, Mane and VVD . Mane has had a poor season but he's still far better than anything else we have in the squad. I can't think of another player that I'd be gutted to lose which is madness.

No, you're not bothered at all. So much so that you posted this in a thread that I wasn't even in:

"Nope. Not while that cunt is still acting like a massive cunt"

Along with the usual "Hahahahaha! You massive cunt." and "Fuck off"

If this is you "not being bothered" then I'd be a bit worried. It seems like you might be having some kind of breakdown.

The new Arsenal, minus the cups and fourth.Great.
It's clear there are many positions that we need to replace the current player.Equally clear that Klopp for whatever reason doesn't see it(Moreno,Karius, lack of DM etc). Also the teams around us and above us that already have stronger squads than us are continuing to strengthen while we sit on our hands. There has to be a reason for this willful stubborn refusal to see what needs doing on the part of management and it is hard to see how it is anythng but the $$$.That to me is all that can explain letting the cunt go-that his value would go down if he downed tools. Can't see this sesson ending well now.And whatever Klopp says I think the players have been negatively effected by the cunts departure. The collective glass looks half empty.

Well.... we're fourth now... so you know... chin up - just the champions league to get knocked out of so as we can focus on staying where we are.

Over the last 5 seasons we have been outspent in NET terms by Bournemouth, Brighton, Everton, Watford, West Brom, Leicester, West Ham, Palace, Arsenal, Chelsea, United as well as City.

At least we are top of one table we have sold players for £419m over the last 5 seasons.

That table is shocking, we must be fucking rolling in it. We might aswell just go out and make a panic buy at whatever cost off the back of that. It's not like 90mill for Lemar etc is exactly going to break the bank.

But as was pointed out when a different version of that table was posted, it is massively skewed by the sale of Coutinho. Without that we would be in 4th place. Or if you take VVD into account as well we would be in 6th place

And Everton's is skewed by the sale of £90m Lukaku and City's / United's by the fact they rarely sell their best players at their prime .... and so on. You can't suddenly decide who is in and who is out based on their sale price. Even if Coutinho were £90m instead of £140m it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

I hate that The Ev got 90 for Bentekkers when we only got 17.

What counts is the present market value of the squad. That value relative to our rivals is higher than it's ever been, so FSG deserve some credit for being able to add value in other ways than spending money. It's just a shame that all of that value is concentrated into three positions, with the remainder of the squad being utterly worthless. Maybe this is what they're doing, they've figured out you get the most return on investment upon attacking players, so they're deliberately cannibalising our defence and diverting every ounce of their effort into generating good attacking assets.

I don't think hat the value of our squad is relative to our rivals now that Coutinho has gone, unless you are counting our rivals as Leicester, Burnley or Everton

So Arsenal and Spurs have both strengthened, and we've probably gotten weaker. We have a real dogfight for top 4 coming up in this second half.

That can't be fucking right.
120m for Phil, 80m for Suarez is 200m
Where has the other 220m in sales come from?
Sterling was 50m still leaves 170m to account for.

Sakho 30M
Ibe 15M

They all add up I guess
