City will take some stopping this year they are mauling Spurs on their own pitch, Mancini might play it tight away to Utd Chelsea etc but they will demolish all the small teams and that should be enough to win them the title I reckon

Crouch misses a sitter - an easy header. A minute later city with a brilliant counter attack with a very good header from dzeko 2-0.

City look good, very good. Spurs will get hammered here and rightly so cause they're all over the place defensivly.

A midfield combo of Modric and Kranjcar doesnt reek of tackling...

Coates should be able to put Adebayor in his pocket, the real key to beating Spurs is to shut down VanDerVart hes the focal point for all their good moves

Citeh look very strong alright. The big test for them will be when they got to Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge, Anfield etc....places were they lost 9 points at last season.

They're undoubtedly stronger this season though...Nasri and Aguero give them much needed flair and skill in the final third and Dzeko is starting to show his class too.

I don't think you can fit both Modric and VDV in the same team. Spurs look unbalanced and soft in the midfield. Can see why they're after Parker and/or Diarra.

that's not a big deal at all (beating the big teams), the big deal is dispatching the small fry with a minimum of fuss. something manu discovered decades ago.

the thing is spurs haven't actually been that bad.
[/quote]

They've been pretty poor in my view.

Fair enough with the players City have, most teams would struggle but Spurs aren't doing the basics right...closing down, being disciplined, keeping their shape.

They look vulnerable every time City attack.

Maybe you want to check/remember they're results last season when as i said, they lost 9 points at Anfield, Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge.

Teams win the league in all sorts of ways.

The only trick is to collect more points than anyone else.

Agreed again Squiggles. Some beat good teams, some beat bad teams. Ultimately I couldn't give a shit where they come from as long as we get more points than anyone else.

While Gary's point is very true, Neil's is valid too. They were held by Fulham, Birmingham and Stoke last season while losing to the likes of Everton, Aston Villa and Wolves.

It's more about the away form I guess, rather than teams they beat. Its no coincidence that both Chelsea and City who finished level on points behind Utd, lost 7 away matches.

the only thing that is going to stop city this season is the distraction of the CL and with the depth of their squad it may not even effect them.

Agree with that. A lot will depend on how well(or not) Mancini manages his squad when the Champions League games come about.

I think all those egos could still derail them. Remember Chelsea looked unbeatable at the beginning of last season. I'm still not convinced by Mancini as a manager, nor that City will have any real dressing-room spirit. Just having the best and most expensive squad in the league does not ensure that you're going to win the league.

Still, 4-0 away at Spurs is pretty fucking impressive.

Chelsea's egos have fared alright over the years in fairness. 3 League titles, 2 FA Cup, and 1 Carling Cup.

Newcastle 2-1 Fulham...Full-time.

I'm surprised no-one has Fulham down for relegation candidates this season, i think they'll struggle. Don't have the biggest of squads.

Almost all won under a brilliant manager.
