Amazing. Once he stopped fighting unnecessary fights, Benitez has done wonders with a borderline Premier League quality squad. 3 points, with game in hand, behind the high-spending bitter blues (who were destined to finish above Liverpool by many talking heads, if you recall.)

Maybe, although Newcastle (under better ownership) is a better fit. Remember the Ancelotti to Liverpool speculation; that was never going to be as good a fit as Klopp. In way that is similar to Benitez to Arsenal.

Tbh, if arsenal wanted a replacement for Wenger it's hard to see past Rafa in terms of ideal fit.
Arsenal have a lot of talented players but lack team spirit, belief & defensive discipline, as well as the funds to directly compete at the very top.
On top of that, Wenger has a massive amount of control at Arsenal, an almost unprecedented amount, which is exactly what Rafa demands, & usually gets part of that control, so he would be willing to take on a lot more & allow the arsenal board (should they wish) to gradually change the structure of the club instead of trying to do it whilst coping with changing the manager.
