Why is he not playing for QPR?

They got relegated - the second side he played in defence for to do so in successive seasons - and he went on loan, possibly because he wanted to stay in the Premiership and the teams he plays for keep going down, sadly. And possibly because they wanted him off the Championship wage bill. It's nothing to do with his ability and quality; he's like Rio.

Apparently the rep on him is that he doesn't commit to tackles as much as maybe he should, instead mostly trying to close down the space and block the shot. Kind of opposite of Sakho when he just came here.

*has some of what Brendan's drinking*

Which means they'll dovetail perfectly and become our best CB partnership since Hansen and Lawro.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't start. And while I'm completely bemused about how this crazy deal came about, I'm with MWNN on this...a fully-signed up believer in Macaulay Culker.

That's the spirit!

Let's look at Caulker at Spurs and then Cardiff. He won England recognition. Liverpool wanted him, rumours of Spurs wanting to buy him back. He had a decent reputation.

I wouldn't be as dismissive as some at all.

Is ball possession not our friend? I mean the games we dominate possession under klopp we either scrape a win or loose.

Fair question, but you can't play without the ball. I suspect the problem is slightly different, namely that we have a group of players who are often better when they're playing off the cuff and don't have too much time to think.

I fancy Sakho and Kolo to start tonight with Caulker on the bench ready to cover someone's inevitable breakdown.

Klopp style is about the quick counter attack, when we have too much, its the opposition that counter attacks. So big teams will dominate possession and come attack us and we can hit them on the counter. Small teams will sit back either hit us on the counter or a set piece.

What?

---------------Mignolet----------------
Caulker--Caulker--Caulker--Caulker
-----------------Lucas------------------
-----------Hendo---Can----------------
Lallana--------Firmino------------Ibe

According to Pearce from the Echo; Sakho, Hendo and Ibe are fit and will start.
Expects Lallana Firmino Ibe as our front three

Old Faithful's record in league games is less consistent than it is for Cup games. I'm thinking it should sit this one out.

I'd prefer Benteke to start than Firmino. Or at the very least both of them. But Henderson back is good news, hopefully we'll see him play with Can and Lucas will be on the bench. I'd also start Caulker, because Sakho has been terrible since he returned from injury in December.

It's impossible to make any predictions about this game. We've shown under Klopp we can beat anyone and look great, and in the next game lose badly and play like total clowns. Still, its at Anfield, as opposed to The Emirates, which is often a bad place for us.

I can't stand Paul Merson why Sky keep him god only knows.

Merson's predictions
Liverpool v Arsenal (Wednesday, 8pm)
If this was Liverpool v Crystal Palace, then I would say I might fancy Palace, but you know Liverpool will be running round like you have never seen before. You look at the way they have played recently and you can bet they won't be anything like that against Arsenal.
That's what you're up against when you are at a top team like Arsenal; other teams lift their game against you. I am sure Liverpool will raise their game but they are struggling to put a team out with all the injuries and I think Arsenal have to win these kind of matches if they are going to win the Premier League. I don't think Liverpool have got enough players at the moment and Arsenal need to win before facing Stoke and Chelsea.
PAUL PREDICTS: 1-2 (17/2 with Sky Bet)

If he was a poster on SCM, he'd be Moron.

Mystic - you are wrong because I think we will win this game. Paul Merson does not think we will beat them, and also he assumes we will raise our game - but had he been watching us in our last game would know that we raise our game even against the shit teams now as its the only way we can create chances to win.

Merson doesn't even have the meagre brains he was born with any more. I can't be bothered disliking him, he's such a pitiful figure.
