Are any international fans thinking of taking a trip to Liverpool for the end of the season?

Obviously a long long way to go but I’m playing a trip home to Ireland around April - June anyway so am thinking how doing to coincide with the end of the season is a great shout.

To witness a title winning parade would be amazing but even if we come up short in the two big trophies it’s still an amazing city and stadium to visit. Not to mention the people.

Maybe we should organise an end of season drinkies.

I'd love to, but my fucking visa expires on the 28th February.

I may try to get it extended, but right now I am really tempted to come up for the West Ham game on the 22nd Feb.

@Insignificance you going to be around for that match mate?

I have booked for the United game the 19th Jan so far. I will see what happens later in the season.

Yeah let's coincide it with Paddy's Day because we're gonna have the league wrapped in March.

I'm going to be in Ireland then. Maybe I'll pop in if there's a ferry at a reasonable price.

I think about it every year for the past few before crashing back down to reality. But I'd be lying if it wasnt creeping back onto my radar for this spring.

The parade will be after we do the double. The weekend we actually win the league is going to be fucking mental.
Scared to do it now, but as we get closer, if it still looks on, I'm gonna be booking some Mondays & Tuesdays off work I think. That weekend town will be fucking epic. Love it after massive wins, feels like everywhere is Anfield & everyone's a red.

I booked off the week of Istanbul about 3 months in advance. The clamour to get the time off after we beat Chelsea was ridiculous. I was a right smug cunt then.

The weekend of the fa cup win over Utd in 06 with Crouch scoring the winner was absolutely mental and that was only one game. I can’t imagine the state of the place if we win it

I wish I had had such forethought.

I went into work on the afternoon the day after we'd won it, having been awake for 48 hours and just landed that morning

I was working for Littlewoods, it had just been sold & we were being laid off, I'd been paid out a modest redundancy, half of which I played debts off with, the other half was just sitting in my account.

I was being paid full wage to 'tidy up & man the shop' with my boss & a few others & had been since April, as the staff dwindled & we had literally nothing to do. I had been given a new job over in the home shopping arm, due to start end September when my last one officially finished.

I simply told my boss that I would be back the next Monday if we lost, if we won, definitely after that but I'd let him know!

I think I went back about mid July, having drunk, snorted, taken pills, shagged & danced for most of that time off, & blown most of that cash...

By the time the Ashes started there were only 5 desks left in the entire office, & the 6 of us left watched the series on the plasmas drinking & playing cricket using tennis balls in the almost empty office.

Fuck they were a great few months.

And people say redundancy is hard!

So our last home game is the 9th. Am I right in assuming we wouldn’t get the trophy even if we had wrapped up the league?

You get the trophy on the last home game of the season unless it’s still undecided and you’re away last game.
